Time to build a Washington 29 Wisdom Home 121Apr 06, 2014 1:52 pm So our eaves are painted, bricks are semi clean and overall we are pretty happy with the progress this week. Got a missive oversupply of bricks though so thinking we will adjust our retaining walls to bricks and use some of them to match the house. We think Wisdom might have made an error in ordering as we have about 6 pallets worth left over! That's a lot of retaining walls! Don't assume all the leftover bricks will be left there for you, check with your SS. Quite a few of our leftover bricks were taken away, we just had to let the SS know how many we would like, it wasn't a lot so they were ok with that. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! They are blackheath aren't they? We had around 4 and a half pallets left and we got to keep them all,so make sure you mention it to your SS. Re: No more renos! Time to build a Washington 29 Wisdom Home 125Apr 08, 2014 4:03 pm Thanks Aheron. Good to hear from you again. How are things? I have labelled the bricks and told the SS. Time to build a Washington 29 Wisdom Home 126Apr 29, 2014 8:15 am So we have had the insulation put in yesterday. We asked the SS to clean out the Damp Proof Courses before the insulation went in as the brickies had left quite a bit of sand in the DPC's and some mortar which could be tapped out. Also wanted some extra packing put under the windows in the upstairs rear bedrooms to stop them sagging in the middle. Other than that things were pretty good. Next stop gyprocking! We were thinking of using Blackheath as well, but have seen some in our area that look poorly done. Did you have any issues with your bricks, such as mortar staining, brick staining, etc.?
