Browse Forums Building A New House Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 121Mar 31, 2011 9:47 pm I had 3 quotes earlier this year: a) Volta U720 with 11m hose kit, 3 inlets & vacusweep: fully installed $2400 b) Intervac EVS2707 with 10m hose kit, 3 inlets & vacusweep: fully installed $1700 c) Valet V2SC with 10.5m hose kit, 6m garage hose kit, 3 inlets & vacusweep: fully installed $2300 So I guess it depends a bit on the type of system you are after. Volta and Valet are obviously more pricey but supposedly better quality? So I guess around $2000 is where things are at the moment. We got our vacuum from Smart Systems and as it's over 12 months ago I emailed (with the information above) to them to ask what their advise is NOW as colleague of mine is building soon and wanted some more info, We have one of these and also one of our friends has had one for years and never touched the filter and it works as good as the day it was installed. Here's what Smarts advise was: -------------------------------------------------------- My advice is a Beam 335 with the new patented self cleaning filter, MB335 10m switched hose, 3 inlets and vacusweep, $ 1950-00 installed Beam also make the Volta in their factory but use lesser performing components. Valet is a Bag machine, the technology is 20 years old, after all you don’t see bag machines hitting the market any more. EVS2707 is a good machine but the cartridge filter lets it down badly as it blocks up quickly, requires changing or replacing. I posted here last Sep about getting a vac system. We went with A&M ducted vacuum system. 3 points $1335. Best thing ever, I absolutely love it Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 125Apr 14, 2011 11:03 am Interesting. The home i moved into recently has a hills 1600 central vacuum system installed in it. I've had no problems with it what so ever until the other day my daughter vacuumed up some large clump of clay wth god knows what else. it seems the motor has seized up. Does anyone know if it can be repaired or replaced? Any suggestions would be helpful Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 126Apr 14, 2011 2:10 pm I must have both of these when we build, good thread! Any suggestions would be helpful If the motor needs to be replaced - as a guide it would be approx $200 to $400 If the clay is stuck in the pipe you'll have to have that clean out as well Is there any noise from the motor at all?
