Bunnings / Howard Storage / Ikea - the usual suspects will sell something appropriate. Building Upside down house in Wantirna VIC Current Stage: Procrastination... it's just all too hard.... Does anyone have recommendations for brands/models? Approx costing would also be great. I'm building a 2 storey home, and need 4 outlets, and the vacpan. Have so far looked at Premierclean, cyclovac, hills/das, and beam(which is electrolux). Also any comments on things I should look at to compare? Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 66Mar 30, 2009 8:18 pm We're going with EBS (Bosch-Siemens). The one feature they have which I haven't seen in other brands is continuously-variable electronic suction control. How useful this will be remains to be seen....we have never even played with a ducted vacuum. But it seems a more elegant solution than an adjustable hole in the hose which is how I believe the others adjust the suction level. And Mrs zeke thoght the vacpan would be a good idea too....hope so. Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 68Apr 14, 2009 9:22 pm hmmmm. I was going to get a Dyson but I think I will be saving the money to go towards a vacpan instead! For those with two storey houses, do you have just one hose or one on each floor? Is the hose heavy?? Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 70Apr 14, 2009 10:04 pm I have one upstairs and one downstairs (yeah, I'm waiting for the lazy comment...... ) and I have switched hoses, which I woulod really recommend - you don't have to pull it out to turn off the suction. Sorry I thought you meant that you had switched your hose, like for a different one , that you could turn off at the handle ... ahhh don't worry it's late and I'm not making sense "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. AND the vacpan!! I'm assuming Masterton don't have arrangements to supply or install since I've never seen it mentioned in their materials but is it worth asking if they can do one for us? Or should I just arrange to have it installed separately? If the latter, do I need to let Masterton know now before the plans are finalised? Our CSC doesn't work on Wednesdays and Thursdays so I'll give her a call on Friday to raise it with her - but just wondering in the meantime... For those of you who have installed it in your home, how many inlets do you have? We're building a two storey house which is around 340sqm. I was thinking possibly 5 inlets (one for the garage, then two each per floor). Is this too much? I have 4 inside my house (down and up front and back) and a vacpan in the kitchen. I think this is the right amount for my home. Re: DUCTED VACUUMING AND VACPAN 78Apr 15, 2009 4:43 am We are getting ducted vacuuming and a vacpan in the kitchen. I did visit a salesoffice and tried the vacuum system that our builder was going to install. It sounded like a 747 trying to take off! For a little extra, we upgraded to a much quieter system with more powerful suction. I think it is worth it so that I won't have a heart attack when I'm in the garage and someone starts the system. I have done both there are time where you just don't wanna get the vac hose out to do only the kitchen. we found that we would sweep with 4 kids and you sweep and sweep and sweep this just saves your back.
