Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13741May 06, 2017 10:00 am Thank you 😊 martinsharmony! We are very pleased with how it's looking! My memory is fuzzy too but I think we went into construction end of November, but we didnt have any action until end of Jan! Both of our builds seem to be moving along very quickly!! Saltwater, we had an unexpected cost of spoil removal on our last build a couple of years ago. We were quoted way more than that! Something ridiculous like $5000 for a couple of truckloads! Luckily my partner can do that type of work and was able to hire the machinery on very short notice and we did it ourselves. Last week we reached locked up 🎉 had the kitchen and other cabinetry installed, benchtops (except the island bench) and sinks and vanities! SO happy with our choices!! Can't wait to see the tiling begin! Hopefully in the next week or two. They are the life series legrand switches. That is what they use these days. A bit thinner. The others are the clipsal 2000 series. They all do the same job. At the electrical appointment they should of shown you what you were getting. You could ask to have them changed to clipsal 2000 versions. Don't line your chances though. Another lesson learnt in the building process. Ask to see what everything looks like that you will be getting. Anyway, i'm still waiting for this house to be finished ... not sure I would get much for it on the market at the moment (notwithstanding the crazy Sydney prices) ..... and we are now just over 2 years post handover!!! Taking the frameless shower screen to a whole new level Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Leaking shower cabin story continues for us too, they sugested: Install smaller / alternative shower rose Install a drencher rose (ceiling mounted) What a ...! The leaking has nothing to do with the rose. According to the guy, who inspected it, this particular model is designed to leak, so it is not suitable for intended purpose. I will be insisting on replacing the cabin with a similar or better quality model, which does not leak. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13750May 08, 2017 1:48 pm Slow handclap for our electrician. He cut an 'extra' hole in the gyprock and decided the best action was just to cover it with a light switch that doesn't appear to be connected to anything. I signed over 5 weeks ago, and have just been told we won’t handover for another 3 weeks (minimum). This makes handover 2 months after PCI. Has anyone had similar issues regarding delays after PCI? Contract states "Any minor items and defects found at PCI will be rectified by the builder as soon as practicable following the inspection" What time frame is practical? Once you've signed off on PCI they've received 97% of their money. Not a lot of incentive to give your last jobs any priority. Your best bet is to keep on to your SS and let him know if your displeasure. Most delays are due to the SS not booking in Tradies. Good luck, here's hoping you get the keys soon.
