We're getting decidedly unhappy about M's lack of organisation. Hi Redwynne little one is doing well thanks! The house is also nearly done so I'm happy! Njc we have a benchtop too and it's a hole through the cabinet and it feeds in the pipe similar to gibsons can't believe it's 6 months since we got keys! For those following there's some pics on the blog of hubby's handy work https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13188Jan 27, 2017 5:53 pm Just had PCI. It was a breeze as i had my own building inspector do all the hard work. He is very thorough 2.5 hr inspection. Things wrong but over all pretty good. Main floor tiles had no expansion joints (every 9 meters inspector said required one) we have none. Main living grout colour not grey colour they did white. Paint touch ups Kitchen cupboards a fair few scratched need replacing. They made led.light holes under all over head cupboard in my kitchen in error. I have 3 downlights why would i also need led. Main hub box is in house but no cabling done to granny flat??? Have to ask m about this one. Shower screens that we waited so long for only 2 done 2 cut wrong. 1 bathroom mirror missing. House filthy they said its been cleaned. My inspector daniel told them to re clean not acceptable. Screws in doors put in wrong or missing. How can anyone call that clean? If it's that's bad in the easy to see places (ie. mirrors) I'd hate to think what the rest is like? Did they say how long til everything from PCI is fixed? We should be at this stage in two-three weeks, so getting as many tips now as possible! Painters finished today (apparently) but hubby called in during the day and got them to fix a heap of really rough areas where they had to cut in. Will be interesting! Is the blue tape what you have picked up on in your inspection? Did your SS pick up on anything? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13191Jan 27, 2017 6:21 pm NJC Sandra 2016 - wow! Heads up take at least 10 light globes with you to see all the faults and a step stool to put them in. Lucky i did this otherwise it was too dark. Should take 2 weeks to keys. Not sure why all soaps in there smelt like chemicals probs tradies cleaning paint brushes Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13195Jan 27, 2017 7:17 pm NJC That is disgraceful! I am really in shock! Do they have to clean up paint spillage on concrete if we are doing our flooring afterwards? I am not sure. Were doing carpet so they will just lay on top for us. I will sweep the floors if they dont clean it properly b4 my carpet goes down. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13196Jan 28, 2017 8:14 am It sounds like you've all had some progress lately which is good. I hope your keys aren't too far off sandra2016! We are at slab stage. We have a very helpful neighbour sending us a message when she sees action on the block. Appears we are getting our slab poured today. Exciting!!! Would love to hear some recs for independent inspectors. They generally inspect at frame stage and PCI? I highly recommend Daniel what better building inspector could you get than one that knows what their looking for when they used to work for masterton. Great guy very thourough and good price. He spent 2.5hrs doing my PCI yesterday and he told my SS to re clean my place its not acceptable. I told the SS before Daniel did and he said to me no its been done already. But when Daniel told him he listened. He picked up faults i would never have noticed like no expansion joints any where on my floor tiles where there should be one every 9m. They say they done clean up on the outside but today we wiper snipped back yard so fencer had a clear yard to work with and they did not clean back yard at all only front and half arse clean of one side. Are they supposed to clean all around house?
