Can't wait to see the pics when it's all yours!! Masterton Overture 17/12/14 - Handover ...... we got the keys !! blog - http://www.mcnamaraadventure.blogspot.com Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13802May 23, 2017 7:24 am We did PCI late March. Still don't have keys as they forgot about the occupancy certificate. Blame game on the go but still don't have keys. Worst part of build was drafting and preconstruction. Build has been good. I guess we were about 8 weeks ahead now we may go over time but PCI is done. M procedures of paperwork red tape are so painful. Building Symphony Grande Custom Masterton House and Land 12/6/14 Paid $3500 20/11/14 contracts signed deposit paid Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13803May 23, 2017 3:25 pm Looks great Martinsharmony!! This might sounds like a silly question, but what colour are you painting your ceilings? Lol. We also have a rake in our ceiling, and we chose our paint colour after seeing it in a display home and loved it because it flowed so nice from the walls to the tall ceilings and we thought it was light and bright next to the ceiling white, however when they told us the colour, what they didn't tell us is that the ceiling was also painted in the wall colour, half strength!! So when we walked in to our chosen colour against bright white ceilings, it's nothing like we had pictured and much darker than we had expected! We are currently getting a price from the painters to re paint the ceiling in the half strength wall colour, but the supervisor thinks it will make it look smaller! Just curious on your thoughts Exciting Gibson! Brettbert, sorry to hear about your delays! May I ask what the problem is with your occupancy certificate? I thought it was our responsibility to obtain one? Concerto Elite Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13804May 23, 2017 10:12 pm Quasi - our local council was very specific on the new driveway crossover that we are building. We were not referred to RMS/Service NSW, all the specs were provided by council. We've not investigated too much into quotes just yet, but we were anticipating most concreters being able to construct it for us. The council have told us they can quote on laying up the new crossover (from road bitumen to boundary) and then we can just seek a private conceter to do our driveway from boundary to garage. Shell90 - Agh. I'm a little nervous now. Had not thought of wall/ceiling colours against the rake. Now you've got me thinking. Our rake will look like the picture below (without the skylights). I'm noticing that the wall and ceiling colour in this pic look very similar, I've not noticed this before. Our home will have June Fog for walls, ceiling white for ceilings and on the RHS wall (in this pic where you can see the timber doorway architrave to pantry) I've decided on a feature wall, that whole wall with be Taubmans Androin (a mid-grey). I think what I like most about the rake in the display home pic is all the angles and no difference in wall/ceiling paint colours. Agh. What to do ... This meant we had window coverings the same week of the move (they came the same day we started moving things in) which felt safer to me For anyone thinking of going fair trading you should, i regret not doing it sooner. I'm nearly free of these clowns as I've never seen them jump to action like they have this week. We are getting a lot of variations in ballpark figures for the same jobs. Would be great to know what is actually reasonable. We're doing a rectified 600x600 tile downstairs and laminate 12mm upstairs plus stairs. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13811May 29, 2017 9:43 am Oh no Martinsharmony! Hope I didn't cause any sleepless nights lol. What are you thinking of doing? I met with our SS last week, the painters said $1500 to change the colour of the ceiling. We are still deciding but probably leaning towards just keeping it now, he made a good point about how it would make the house darker, I think the raked area would be okay, but the entry is already quite dark and when we add the dark flooring, it will be even darker! He also took me to the front door and told me to look through to the raked area, and because you can see the difference between the ceiling and the walls, you can see the ceiling is higher. Maybe I'm just talking myself into it haha! But I am warming to it! Either way, it will be beautiful! The painters come after kitchen installation! Your place is coming along nicely Gibson. Nothing much happened at our place last week. Tiling is all complete now. We were waiting on more skirting to be delivered and the mould out carpenters to come and finish (these carpenters have been the only thing that has slowed us down) they are young, and any sign of rain, they were gone. They did our frames too. Seems like they would turn up at lunchtime one day, work till dark and then not come back for a few days! Now the same thing with the mould out! They were supposed to finish last week, but turned up yesterday (yes Sunday) at 1pm and worked for a couple of hours??? Hopefully they are there today, we can't move forward until they are finished! Next steps are: •Finish mould out •Patch and sand walls to prep for the rest of painting •Painting •Plumbing, Electrical fit outs About 4-6 weeks away from PCI. I think we will stick with our original wall colour (June Fog) and just ceiling white for all ceilings. I'm actually having the door painted and not stained. I must admit, it seems a shame. Seeing the beautiful timber today has made me reconsider leaving it a natural timber colour/stain.
