Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13421Feb 18, 2017 7:30 pm Yeah I know they are rubbish and use rubbish suppliers. Nearly 7 months post keys and I can't get them out of my life Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13422Feb 18, 2017 10:27 pm I went into Masterton Warwick Farm today and they aren't for us unfortunately. I need a granny flat at the back, they have a separate company called 'Masterton Granny Flats' however you cannot build with that company as they are not really the same company, you can only build a granny flat that 'Masterton' offers, which they only have 2 versions of which is quite limiting. They are strict with variations to the layout, unless it's an easy add-on expensive extension, lets say a rumpus extension at the back, however if you wanted to change the kitchen layout, it's an upfront no and would require you to pay 2500 just for drafting services alone. Their base prices are very cheap but if you wanted a hi spec house ie square set cornices, fully tiled bathrooms, fully tiled alfresco, video intercoms, upgraded stairs etc, the prices sky rocket and you may as well have gone to a custom builder who already include said upgrades and receive better quality and attention to detail. It was a very negative vibe with Masterton. Just for them to deal with Holroyd/Cumberland DA, it was gonna cost me an extra $8000 because the council is apparently difficult. Dont be upset trust me you did yourself and your family a favor going elsewhere. Funny that i never went.with masterton granny flats to build my granny. Masterton warwick farm did the lot. Their customer service is appalling. The only 2 people in masterton homes that were lovely was wendy in colours and sharon knight. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13424Feb 19, 2017 6:02 am Yep you did yourself a favour by not proceeding with Masterton. Once we got the house to sort of where we wanted it, we should of gone to a custom builder. Would of been less heart ache...DONT BUILD WITH MASTERTON AND THEIR RUBBISH SUPPLIERS Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13425Feb 19, 2017 8:50 am MGardz Yep you did yourself a favour by not proceeding with Masterton. Builder: ....... Experience : see username Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13426Feb 19, 2017 10:35 am Thanks Gibson. It's a 5.5 week delay with frames being delivered which is a joke. Nothing else can progress so we're literally sitting waiting. I'll be calling M head office tomorrow and escalating. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13427Feb 19, 2017 12:18 pm G1nosaur we actually found M's prices to be reasonable. We went to another builder as they had a better price on their standard inclusions, but once we got them up to M's spec they were 60k more expensive. Sevenths, yes 5 1/2 weeks waiting for frames is excessive. Keep on top of them. It's really all down to the SS you have. Question: for those who installed pendant lights, did they need any extra reinforcing in the ceiling? I'm wondering if I should put in extra battens before the ceilings go in.
