I have already gone out and looked at the flooring and the tiles. I have decided on laminate for the flooring which is included. I am trying to stick as close to whats included as possible as I lost a lot of my provisional's on the delay with the land registering. Are Masterton willing to reduce the amount they charge for the $950 a month for the delay. I will be up for about $11,400 which is 12 months of $950. What did people upgrade and what did you just go with the standard. I have already got the mansion and yes package in my quote along with other changes I made to the plan.
Thank you in advance. we were quite happy with the included tiles so didn't need to upgrade at all. with air-con, the system on offer could only cool/heat one zone at a time, so couldn't do living areas and bedrooms at the same time. as our kids tend to hang out in their rooms, we really needed to be able to do both. we upgraded to a samsung inverter, which cost $3950. ark is tricky..... depends on what your local companies can offer. we found they were quite expensive compared to locals, but others on here have found the opposite. worth getting some quotes ..... even though other companies can't get access to measure up, they can give you a quote from your plans which give window/door sizes. the benefit of ark is that m allow them onsite so installation can be done before handover. other companies can't start the process till after you get keys -they will want to do an actual onsite measure to ensure things all fit, so you will be without blinds/security doors/etc for a few weeks. well worth it though if it saves you $$$. colour appointment.... lots of upgrades can be done here!! doors, door handles, bathroom fittings, extra paint colours...... lots! depends on if you're happy with what's included or would rather change it. some things are far easier to change at the planning stage rather than after they've been installed. and cheaper too if you're only paying for the difference between two options, rather than included value you are already paying, plus the cost of replacement. electrical...... lots of power points! never underestimate how many we all need!!! consider if you want down lights, pendant lights, etc, and where you'll want them. enjoy the selection days..... its putting all your choices into your new home!! Thank you for your reply. There are so many options when it comes to tiles I think I will end up spending more than I want in here lol. Have already gone out to Don's Tiles twice and my appointment is on 7 March. Accent Carpets have a new laminate which is water resistant so like the look of that. I want laminate throughout house but have been told that is only included in main areas and if I want in bedrooms is costs more. So will find out how much that is at my appointment. Not that keen on the included carpet. I have a cat so there are some options I can't have. I modified it a bit to suit my requirements. What does your layout look like. Mine is below. I have modified it again since the plans were drawn as below as I was going to have the front room as my office but now the Home Theatre will be my office and Grand Resort my bedroom. I just rang Masterton regarding the colour appointments etc and they normally do it one month before land registration. So once the developer tells me it has gone to land titles I will give them a ring to book it in. I have also ask they email me a list of the suppliers that are used for the carpets, tiles etc so that I can start to choose what we want and then will be ready for when we do have to do it all.[/quote] Hi, congrats on your upcoming build. Just wondering how you’ll set up the dining/family room re furniture size, type and placement. You only have about 3.2m from island bench to wall and another wall is entirely glass leading out to alfresco. Cheers. I have a 19 month old at moment so going to put some shelving on the other side of the linen cupboard wall in family room with a small table and chairs for her to play. That is about as far as I have thought so far. I am sure I will change my mind many times till I move in. Are you building the Harmony as well. Run CAT6 cables from NBN Hub (placed in Garage) to the place where your router will be. This will ideally the same location for your file server. Your file server should connect via cable and not wifi. So the file server connects to router or a switch linked to router. 2) A single wifi source using telco supplied router will not do justice. Consider access well into the backyard and your driveway. 3) If budget permits then a data point in each room is great. You may need more data points for your office use (printer, file server, computers, home security...) You will need at least 1 data point for TV hooked to Netflix. Other smaller TVs can connect via wifi too. 4) I did not give much thought to extensive phone cabling as I do not plan to use a home phone. If you have need for EMERGENCY phone assist (lifesupport) then think about that. 5) Assuming your router is in Home Theatre - the router connects to NBN Hub via cable. I would connect a 16 port switch (with 4 or 8 POE) to the router. All data conx in your house to terminate on a patch panel and connected to the switch. 6) For Wifi, I would install 2 ceiling mounted access points (AP) like UAP-AC-PRO. The locations can be same as the 2 "SD" smoke detectors (?) on either side of kitchen. The AP from Unify require some technical setup. These ceiling mounted AP would require CAT6 cables in the ceiling connected to the POE ports on the switch (hence no power source required near the AP). Once the AP are in use, the wifi on router to be switched off. 7) All other data ports from the house will terminate at the patch panel and connect to switch.
