Our house has sat with no trades for 2 months and now another month. Ss is critical to your build. For us to be in the 9th month of construction and not even have lock up completed is atrocious. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 14135Sep 13, 2017 9:47 am Good thing is we survived the stress to see our new home My neighbour started a KDR I found out he passed away last week. KDR. Just wondering if anyone else did receive something for putting up with their crap for the whole build. I've seen a lot of peeps here get towels..... but we also got zip! I figured that our SS was/is just getting himself a nice collection by not handing them over! haha! Since we had the same supervisor GillyM I was thinking the same thing. We use huge towels so I doubt we'd even use them unless it was to hide some of their crap work. yep, we're the same with towels..... we always buy super soft bath sheets, and I doubt the ones M were giving would have been ones I would use anyway. You're not missing out on much. They did at least try to colour match to our selections hehe Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 14138Sep 14, 2017 8:55 am Possible KDRB - We've just completed our KDRB on a single story home (Harmony Elite). The base price for our house was around $247,000 when we signed our Tender and we've spent $380,000. The biggest expenses for us were site costs (which were specific to us as we built a dual occupancy) and our Council Requirements were also pricey (BASIX and BAL rated). However in regards to M upgrades, our splurges were to upgrade the air con ($7000) and I chose tiles in our wet areas over and above the allowance ($8815). With a KDRB you'll have the added cost of demolition. We are out of Sydney, ours cost $11,000. We also had some site prep and retaining walls to be built once old house knocked down. On top of demolition, retaining and cost of new build you'll have after handover stuff like driveways, landscaping, window coverings etc. We are doing all that now ... costs keep adding up. CathyP - We built out of Sydney so our tiles were supplied by Tile Direct. I found they had a great selection. If there is a tile from Beaumont Tiles that you love, you could request a refund of that area and do it yourself after handover? Or see if Dons/Tile Direct can order it in for you? We found Tile Direct really helpful. Our appliances installation started on 15th Aug and still hasn't finished. Tradies are back again today to fix the splashback tiles so that the rangehood can be installed.
