We have been madly trying to finalise all the finance and deliveries. They gave us DEC 19 for appliances so cutting it close. My advice is to keep pushing yours and get yours sorted as well. Good luck with it. We've signed off on final check as well so we can hurry up and get final invoices and get them paid quickly so we can get appliances installed. I trust our SS to finish the work. It's possible we could have keys by the end of next week. All our flooring is being done next week. Drive way starts the end of next week. It's all happening. Just have to take one day at a time. Meanwhile it's time to start packing to move Masterton Villina Elite 2016 23/3 Slab 13/4 Frame & Windows 24/5 Bricks 19/8 Roof 29/9 Gyprock 3/11 Paint Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 12804Nov 30, 2016 8:42 pm sandra 2016 What one earth happened there ? Things will fly now and you'll be in your lovely home before you know it. This is the exciting part watching all your choices come together. I've just spent 12 months ummming and arggghing over our tile choices. The tile I thought I'd absolutely love is my least favourite. I like them all though. But yes, we are so anxious to see it all come together! I've only just decided on my floor tiles that are being done after handover. It took over 12 months to find them but they are exactly what I wanted and even more importantly they were on sale! these are the internal floor tiles and we have the same tile externally in charcoal grey! This is our bamboo, not the best pic. Yes S-VE we did think about that (we have two boys!) but I have lived with dark floors and lots of carpet and I hated it! Our main living space has no natural light so we had to go for a lighter flooring and these tiles probably look a bit lighter in that pic than real life! Our current rental has floorboards and they show all dirt and every scratch Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 12812Dec 02, 2016 5:53 am NJC - my walls are that light I almost need my sunnies to walk through my house the wall colour in some rooms looks almost as light as the white architraves. I'm hoping the darker floors will tone it all down a bit, although the bamboo isn't that dark. I guess once my black blinds go in it will also make the rooms look different again. I can't wait to see my Vision blinds installed. We are having the staircase and study in a 3 toned lighter colour as a feature. Any hard floors shows the dust. I'm going to set my IRobot up to do a round every few days on the bamboo. Thanks to those that have PM'd me. We have decided not to proceed. I will respond to PM's this afternoon. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 12814Dec 02, 2016 11:40 am We have moved to construction phase already 10days but no progress show at all.The welcome letter said this is exciting phase but we scare & get feeling it seems worse than pre construction which already was a nightmare. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 12816Dec 02, 2016 12:24 pm Harmonyone, welcome to the journey. We are on version 10 of our plans and version 5 of our variations. Do not be pressured in to signing the contract , you have all the power before signing. Put pressure on your sales person, let them know you won't sign until it's right. We made a couple of last corrections on the plans as we signed. Of course they want you to sign, that locks you in,so stick to your guns and make sure it's everything you want before you sign. All the stuff they tell you to make you sign is just pressure salesmanship. Is it normal for us to not have accurate plans at the time of signing the contract? Is it normal for them to make changes in red and have us sign the contract based on this? Same happened to us, although they gave us the option to delay. Just that drafting are so slow, it would have delayed an extra 2 months. Our plans only got finalised after colours and close to construction. I did find them quite honest and we didn't get called for variations. Yours sound like pretty major mark ups though. Hope you're in no hurry for a new home....
