Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11053May 17, 2016 9:21 pm We'll see S-VE......we've decided rather than ask them to put our file on hold we're going to pull the plug. If they change their mind we'll review but if not we're OK with walking away. Very concerned with their mistakes so far as well as their attitude so early in the process. It's great to hear someone say that construction has not been a nightmare though. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11054May 17, 2016 9:44 pm Fingerscrossed - what M house were you going to build ? I remember every part of me regretted signing with M in pre construction. Friends of ours that are building a similar sized Rawson house started the build process the same time as us and they are almost at PCI. Our solicitor received a blunt obnoxious reply to our request to alter repayment schedule. They basically said stiff. But when I mentioned I was aware others have had alterations at the request of their bank they have done it I was told my bank could ask too.....apparently banks are scarier than solicitors. My bank won't get involved yet until a valuation and council approval has been given and they suggested getting a solicitor to ask. I don't want to hand over more money this week only to find my bank later won't finance with M's schedule. At that point we will have already signed our life away. I think I'm mostly cranky with their arrogant response. My solicitor is surprised too and is suggesting we should look elsewhere as we could have a better build experience with a better price. I think we may walk away before we get in any deeper. Tell them you're walking away and see how quickly they change the schedule. J+H - what facade do you have ? Is yours single story ? Ladies and Gents - I remember how frustrating pre construction is. It drove me mentally insane! But I haven't been happier since being in construction. I don't know why M has such a pathetic bunch in pre construction. Villina 41 with savoy facade. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11056May 17, 2016 10:26 pm Good evening, everyone. Wow..do you live on a main road???? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 11058May 18, 2016 9:07 am Morning everyone, I've been going through our tender and found this item: Provisional Allowance to import additional clean fill to raise the building platform to achieve the required floor level. Granny Flat included. $16,192 I think this is a bit excessive. Yes I have a lot of fill, around 200m3, but many apartment builders offer the fill for free delivered. I was wondering if anyone had to import fill to their construction site and how much was put into the tender? That sounds about what we were charged carriehhan - it's between $400 to $600 each time (for us, it was for deliveries and the concrete pour). We live in a quiet wide street with about 2 cars per hour - MADNESS. Apparently our local council had a crackdown for about 2 months (the time of our deliveries) and then forgot about it again. I cannot tell you how angry I get every time I see NO traffic control for new builds on roads 1000 times busier than ours. 2013 1st tender 24/10 Dep. 18/11 2014 5% 25/02 CDC approval 5/5 Demo 26/5 Pool 3/7 Valid'n 10/7 Slab 11/8 Frame 19/9 Bricks 23/10 2015 Roof 3/12 Lock up 11/2 PCI 31/3 Final insp. & keys 30/4 4 16735 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16007 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20181 |
