Long time no post! First of all, CONGRATS to everyone on the progress of your houses! your home looks amazinggg! We havent posted at all since DA lodgement and it has been such a rollercoaster ride. DA was lodged in April and was finally approved a few days ago. Council was so strict with everything it was insane. But thank god that is over! I was hoping if anyone can assist in terms of getting loan approval from the bank. We're pretty new to this and Masterton told us that it's our responsibility to chase the bank up for unconditional approval and a commencement letter. What are the documents required to bring to the bank in order to get unconditional approval and a commencement letter? Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 8215Oct 31, 2015 3:57 pm Hi MNT91! Congrats on approval! The bank will just need the the stamped DA plans from Masterton, the tender and PCVs from M which will give the final build price. They will then send a valuer out and once that's all locked in with your deposit contribution they will send you the contracts, you sign them and the commencement letter should be to M within the week of contract signing. Good luck https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 8216Oct 31, 2015 4:46 pm We had our day in Sydney yesterday. Spent heaps of money. $8900 upgrading the air con to the 20KW ActronAir with 6 zones and the wireless app. Sentinal was another $1200, upgrading the alarm to those wireless remotes plus added a window sensor plus the nicer looking TouchNav pad. We also thought $375 was a fair price for an Antenna. Plus some extra data and TV points. I was really looking forward to my Artline appointment and it was such a disappointment. The girl we had the appointment with didn't even introduce herself. She kept on commenting that if this was her she would do this or that. Then she couldn't tell me a single price for anything, not even the bins. Once the kitchen was finished I noticed the design was wrong. So M had sent her the wrong thing. Once she had finished she then started talking about the pantry and laundry. I told her that if she couldn't tell me how much I had spent in the kitchen then I won't be doing anything in the laundry or pantry. I didn't plan on doing anything in the laundry anyway. I'm doing the builders shelves in there for my washing baskets. I was considering the shelves from Artline in the pantry but I'm fine with the standard ones. I'm going to adjust the pantry shelving at colours. Is this the start of the disappointment ? We have our colours appointment on Monday where I will be complaining about Artline. It's just ridiculous they won't give pricing on upgrades. It's just ridiculous they won't give pricing on upgrades. what amazed me was that when we got our quote for our upgrades from artline, and it was more than we were expecting, artline seemed unable to give us a breakdown of how they came up with the magic number they were quoting us. They eventually managed to do so, but you would think we were asking them to re-design the wheel! For anyone yet to do their artline appointment, I would recommend that you tell them that you insist on an itemised quote, so that you know how much each upgrade is. at least that way, if you need to remove something due to budget constraints, you will know what each upgrade is costing. Every other supplier has given us one. Anyone who has got a breakdown have approx costs for the following - waterfall mitred ends to island - poly finish - handleless drawers/cupboards - drawers on the island. Apart from this is there anything people here didnt do/or did do and wish they could change now? eg: things that just arent practical etc. we will be the same tho - not signing until we get an itemised account of all upgrades - how can you decide what you can and cant afford if you dont have the details!!! Ludicrous!!!! We changed some cupboards to sets of 3 drawers - each set of drawers was $525. And we upgraded from Createc to Ultraglaze which cost $1239..... this may vary slightly depending on size of your kitchen. Also, these prices were from last year, so may have increased over time. We didn't do handle-less as we had this in our previous house and I got very tired of cleaning fingerprints off every cupboard! The less cleaning required, the better! Our kitchen design came standard with one waterfall end, and didn't feel the need to add the other one, so no idea on that cost. Other things I would suggest....... we built in downlights in the bottom of the top cupboards (2 cost $140) so that we have lots of well lit benches, plus we added the pull out twin bin..... sounds expensive at $600, but absolutely love it! Far better quality than the one we had previously (from Bunnings), and I love having the bins out of sight but completely at hand!
