We picked dark brown in colour selection, error by them its amazing how different we all see colours Overture Premier 27/1 - CDC approval 09/3 - Peg out 14/4 - Slabbed 08/5 - Framed 18/5 - Roof complete 12/6 - Bricks complete 26/6 - Gyprock complete 29/6 - Lock up 22/9 - PCI Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6634Aug 18, 2015 6:35 pm Hi everyone Still trying to sort through our air con issue. Will let you know how we go. I have another question. We are going to our electrical appointment this friday. Anything we should look out for or consider? We are planning to have downlights for most of the house, but were thinking of getting an electrician in afterwards to install. Will this be an issue as our house is double storey? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6635Aug 18, 2015 9:53 pm Agree about thinking about kitchen island design, we changed ours so the sink is towards the end of the island instead of the Middle with the dishwasher just to the right, and the microwave to the left, right next to the walk in pantry. The default design didn't make much sense with the sink in the middle and microwave at the other end of the pantry. I have a question, the front door is on, looks like it's not stained and varnished yet, is Masterton going to do this? And the downpipes are installed from the roof gutters but it's in white pvc which sticks out like a sore thumb against the bricks, does Masterton paint the pipes the same colour as the gutter? Oh we got the same letter from Masterton too about being close to PCI and steps to take. They talk about occupation certificates. There is a large step down from the rear stacker door because the house was raised. I plan to put a deck there later on, would that mean I have to install temporary stairs or something to get issued an occupational certificate? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6636Aug 18, 2015 9:58 pm Hi everyone, good to see some progress for some. I completely understand for the slow builds though. I feel like our build has been a very slow one as well. Our contract is up around mid Nov including xmas break rain delays etc. It feels like an eternity specially living in a tiny rental with 3 children. Just a couple of questions as I'm a little unsure of lock up. What is done before lock up? I thought it was when gyprock was finished and doors are on. Is there more to it? Also do they have to be at PCI before they get hit with delays or is that at handover when we get keys? Redwynne our ss also has over 20 builds no wonder we are delayed. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6637Aug 18, 2015 10:03 pm Hey jazz for us lockup was with all gyprock on, and all external doors fitted and locked. and most internal doors fitted and most of the architraves. Straight after that they start on kitchen cabinets and then tiling which is where we are at now Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6639Aug 19, 2015 5:42 am Yeah it definitely should be Redwynne! It's all about that prize at the end! Hi home_n_all, I'm fairly certain that you just need to let Masterton know you will be doing your own do lights after handover and they can place the light points in correct positions and you won't have any problems afterwards. Inmotion, yes the painters will stain the door in the colour you chose at colours, they will also paint the downpipes in the colour you chose. Jazz2024, lock up for us was gyprock and external doors. Concerto Elite Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 6640Aug 19, 2015 7:47 am Thanks Shell90. The hardest part of this build it the guessing. I don't know why someone (I understand the ss is busy with so many jobs- maybe the coordinator ?)can't call us and give us a weekly or fortnightly update. That way we don't have to go past daily to see what stage we are up to. Ok rambling over ........ Hope it's a productive day for all builds 4 16553 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 15822 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20036 |
