How many weeks was your contract? Im not sure exactly but I think the standard contract length (whatever that may be). No major issues or delays at all with our build so with PCI tomorrow hopefully all goes well and get the keys in a few weeks. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4784May 10, 2015 7:25 pm It's in a funny spot marina, just after the entry hall, in the open space before the stairs. My dad said maybe for the smoke alarm? Callie, not much help but 8 weeks for us but we are two story and I think that's slow!! But being two story, we have to wait for the scaffold to go up, scaffold to be moved down etc so they can move up, and as soon as they have to leave for a day to wait for the scaffold, they move onto other jobs and don't come back until they have finished or have to wait for something at the other job! I see lots of one story houses bricked up very very quickly!! So fingers crossed it isn't too long Concerto Elite Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4785May 10, 2015 7:41 pm Callie Hi everyone how long does M take to brick our homes mines single story ? ours took just over 3 weeks. I like the brick colour from Austral but they don't have horizon tiles which is what I want for the roof. My understanding is I should be able choose the bricks from Austral and roof tiles to match from PGH. Has anyone done something similar? If so, how did you co-ordinate your brick & roof colour selection? Any guidance is much appreciated. Thanks. Yes you can do this, we did it's not a problem. Just tell them when you are asked for your brick and tile selections for your basix report. Do you have one there? if not maybe it's in the wrong spot? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4790May 10, 2015 9:48 pm Sunday night fun ... very lengthy email to SS with list of "outstanding" issues. Lets see what kind of post-handover (ie they have all my money now) pressure I can exert! Only one super urgent issue however ... missing banister from lower stairwell (never ever been installed ... my SS says it was installed, the painters took it down to paint and threw it on the rubbish pile ... as you do ....!) ... BUT all I know is that a) I visited the site "fairly" regularly (daily) and have never seen it, it was recorded as missing at PCI (6 weeks ago) and at final inspection (10 days ago) and it is still no-where in sight! It is the ONLY thing M still needs to do to get us our interim OC. Seriously folks .. how long does it take to re-order a missing handrail!!! arrggghhhhh .... Anyway, the removalists are coming Sat 16 May so by hook or by crook we'd better have that interim OC this week (I sometimes think ... but who would ever know if we have the interim OC or not, then I remember why we had to modify our houseplans ......... my slightly nasty neighbour ... bound to dob us in (he works for our local council, believe it or not!!). How bizarre that even with keys in hand, there are highs and lows every day ..... when will it ever end???? I guess the day M finishes everything on my "M to do" list ... then I guess the buck passes to me! And hopefully the relaxation can start ..... 2013 1st tender 24/10 Dep. 18/11 2014 5% 25/02 CDC approval 5/5 Demo 26/5 Pool 3/7 Valid'n 10/7 Slab 11/8 Frame 19/9 Bricks 23/10 2015 Roof 3/12 Lock up 11/2 PCI 31/3 Final insp. & keys 30/4 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4791May 11, 2015 8:39 am Wow if only all our builds could be stress free like Mick91! I don't mind if a standard build takes x amount of time but I'm over the "it'll be done tomorrow" and it clearly won't be nor the next day not the day after that. Congrats tho on a quick build and upcoming PCI. Villinaeliters - You'd think cause M took their time that you'd have less hassles?? Shell90 - Great pics but stop posting them.... you're making me sooo jealous!!! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4792May 11, 2015 9:36 am Hi All, Haven't been here in a while, but since I have we are now at lock up stage and I have a few questions for those people who have already been through this process. How long does it take from lock up to final completion? Also what is the difference between the interim and final certificates? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4793May 11, 2015 2:06 pm Hmmm... Is it just me or does anyone else have the urge to visit their lot as soon as they get released into the Construction phase? It's only been a week into our 20 day countdown and I've got the itch to visit nearly every day lol.... Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4794May 11, 2015 2:23 pm TNC2004 - Oh yeah but after a while that urge dies!! Well it did for us as there would be days where there is no action. No one was at our place this morning, last Friday, last Thursday. Not sure how our scaffold will be pulled down and the build progress along if no one is there on site!! I now visit on the weekends. I used to drive past when I'd be taking the kids to their after school activities but I don't any more. I hope your build runs along smoothly I'm taking a poll... who has a free-standing bath, who has a bath but it isn't free-standing, and who doesn't have a bath at all? Also for those that have moved into their house, do you like your bath? It may look good but is it comfortable? Thanks guys Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4796May 11, 2015 2:29 pm redwynne TNC2004 - Oh yeah but after a while that urge dies!! I can visit but it'll be at night after work so the only real time I'll be able to visit would be on the weekends. I used to dread Sunday evenings but now, I don't mind them knowing that the next day is classified as a day within' the '20 day countdown' lol. I can imagine the urge dying after having no action on your lot. I just hope things go smoothly without any drama's or further delays .. man that urge is kicking in... As for the bath poll, we've got a bath (isn't free standing). Free standing looked nice though! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4797May 11, 2015 2:37 pm I would add that we couldn't view/try the standard bath during selection - who buys a bath without laying down in it?? We have kids though, and I like a good soak, so we were going to have one....but not a freestanding one because did i mention I had kids? They would just cover it in bath toys and bath crayon drawings and wee in it and make a lot of mess to tidy up around it! Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4798May 11, 2015 2:38 pm Redwynne, we have the standard built in bath, we also did double shower heads in the ensuite. 5/14 $3900 paid 7/14 first drawn plans 8/14 Contracts 8/14 Plans to council 9/14 Q Central/Tiles 10/14 Colours/Electrical 31/10/14 Council Approval 11/14 Block cleared 12/14 Pre construction complete Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 4799May 11, 2015 2:43 pm We have selected a different bath after trying them out in the show homes. It is built on as we don't like cleaning around a free standing bath. You'll get that after a few years. Or hire a cleaner then you will never know. I just keep day dreaming about how beautiful the finished product will be to get me through those days! We WILL be there soon!!! Bath poll - we have kept the two standard baths. Probably won't need or use 2. But there wasn't anything else that enticed me to delete it! I don't have children yet, and this is my first home, so maybe once I'm in there I'll be kicking my self for not deleting one and making use of the space differently?? Time will tell. I love the look of the freestanding bath, but it didn't cross my mind at the time and wasn't offered! MelMel, sorry I can't help! I wish I was there at lock up stage lol! TNC, your not the only one! I'm lucky that our block is just around the corner! But I do agree with Redwynne, the urge does die when there is nothing happening! Concerto Elite 4 16817 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16076 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20232 |
