I am just new to this forum and haven't had a chance to figure out how to do it. The photo that Ren1979 posted is a great example of a cavity slider. Ours are very similar but instead of 4 small glass inserts, the entire door is glass except for the wooden frame around it. So many choices! The more I look at what other people have done, the more I second guess our choices. It's lots of fun choosing but very stressful as well. One thing I learnt is never sign off on anything (colours, kitchen, tiles, electrical, etc) at your actual appointment. Always take your choices home with you and give yourself a few days to look over everything and make sure you are 100 percent happy with it all. Changing things after signing off will often cause confusion and will always cost you a variation fee! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 2157Oct 04, 2014 8:26 pm Bleaky - we started chasing up M after about the 8 week mark. They told us that our file was missing a contour drawing that was needed to submit to council. Finally after about 3 weeks a surveyor came out and completed the drawing. We assumed that things would pick up from here and our plans would be submitted. How wrong we were! Finally, after another 2 weeks of chasing up M, we had enough and asked to speak to someone higher up at M to find out what the delay was this time - apparently our file is missing another drawing! So as of last week, our file has been upgraded to an "urgent status" and we are waiting for the surveyor to come out again.......it has been 8 days and still no surveyor! Looks like I will be ringing them again to find out what's going on. I didn't want to be that annoying customer that rings every second but it looks like that is the only way you can get answers. So far we are 20 days over the 90 day validation period and counting! Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 2158Oct 04, 2014 9:00 pm Dee that sounds absolutely infuriating. It would be pretty rich of them to try to hit you with a price increase. Not that I think they won't try. We've had both M and council doing their best to drag it out. I've been nagging both regularly, something I've found a natural talent for:). M forgot to submit a report, which when submitted, council decided wasn't good enough. So it's being redone next week. M offered to organise someone to do it, but I know we can get it done quickly, something I'm not sure they are familiar with. After reading everyone's journeys I know there has to be some delays but knowing doesn't help. I hope we are both in construction soon!!! I am just new to this forum and haven't had a chance to figure out how to do it. Here's one way to put photos in your posts....... create a "photobucket" account (very easy) and upload your photos from your phone/pc to photobucket. Whilst in photobucket, click on the photo you want to put in the forum. To the right of the photo, there will be some links/addresses. Left click on the IMG address - it will then say "copied". Go into the forum and right click/paste the link into your post. All done!
