Where are you up to Pikey? Gilly - fingers crossed for you. I hope Fingalbrad and thunder get a new site supervisor who is as good as the one we have out here in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. He is methodical, safety conscious and approachable. Never palms us off and always takes the time to deal with our queries. As for our build, we have some of our bricks done, the scaffold is now up, I believe we are getting our roof finished, gutters etc this coming week while the brickies are out at another job finishing off (I drive past a house on the way to work and realised they have the same brickies as our house). Then our brickies will come back to us. We are ten weeks into our contract time. Not sure whether they do the rendering straight away or what happens after that. I have to say that I'm starting to get nervous and wondering whether the colours we have chosen will come together. Pikey, are you having render or any other applied finishes? That's good news dream home we are pretty happy so far as well.We don't hear much from the SS but we don't need to everything is flowing well. It's 11 weeks since we broke ground. We sunk a big load of cash into our bricks by upgrading the whole house to a Diamond one so we didn't do any render etc. The bricks look wonderful Our top story is all finished except for the cladding on the garage part (scaffolding was in the way) , eaves painted and most of the scaffolding is now down.Next is the garage and alfresco gutters , fascia, eaves and roof tiles . The ground floor bricks need cleaning as well. The air conditioning unit is in the roof and ducting is done. The balcony balustrades have also begun. Internal plumbing done as well Can't wait to stop paying rent and I bet everyone else is the same ! The waffle pods arrived on Tuesday (even on the day the SS said they would!), so we figured the prep work for the slab would start Wednesday or Thursday. Still nothing had started by Friday, about to call SS when he called us. He said the concreter had let him down big time, and he "put a rocket up him", so he expected him onsite first thing next week (10/6). Lo and behold, on Saturday we went past the block and they're there working! And again all day today (Sunday)! The SS said ours is complicated due to the split levels, but so far it looks like most of the waffle pods and lots of reo are done. So hopefully (fingers crossed!) we should finally be slabbed very soon! Fingalbrad & Thunder - sorry to hear of all your delays and hassles.... hopefully the new SS will be great!!
