Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 601Oct 17, 2013 8:18 pm Hi guys haven't been on for ages, family health problems and all the rest. I promised Vatche I wouldn't drop off and I always keep my promises. We had our 90 day maintenance inspection a couple of weeks ago, Im not sure what all the fuss is about we received a letter yesterday saying that all the suppliers had been contacted and that we should hear back in 10 days or less. So that means everything we picked up was accepted. The guy was lovely worked for M for 30 years and really helpful. The next day we already received a call for gen stairs who are coming tomorrow and the carpenters next week. The trick is not to count the days and be patient. We are super happy with the response time and aren't really fussed if it takes a little while as long as it gets done. Besides it was all minor stuff We are really happy with the house and cant believe how lucky we are to have such a nice home to come to after a hard day at work Vatche we still don't have our retaining wall hence no landscaping I laugh so hard when I think about it I cry...terrible bad luck maybe Speak soon viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 602Oct 18, 2013 7:00 am Nice to hear back from you Danni. I hope your health gets better. I just recently emailed our 90 day form with only 2 items on it. 1) main vanity sink small leak from drain 2) small join cracks on cornices & skirtings, which is normal ground settling process. We are very happy with the house as well. Only last weekend we had our house warming party, inviting our families over for a BBQ. We had to put all the remaining boxes in the garage to hide them Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 603Oct 20, 2013 9:55 am Vatche Nice to hear back from you Danni. So we finally got all the elements for council approval the waterboard approval was a nightmare. Now to get everything to the private certifier so we can get a construction certificate and were on our way. Im truly hoping we can at least have grass by summer or it will be such a waste. PS all our stuff is in the theatre room so your doing better than us! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 604Oct 20, 2013 1:35 pm Hello All, Just wanted to say hi and thank you to everyone for sharing their experiences and knowledge. Quick questions: If anyone has upgraded their ceiling height could you please let me know approx how much $ this was?? I'm currently at 2.6m high ceilings as that's the yes promotion.... But I'm currently living in a home that's around 3m high and LOVE the height. If you did increase the height what were your reasons? Cheers PJ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 607Oct 21, 2013 1:25 pm Planejane1 Hello everybody! But I'm currently living in a home that's around 3m high and LOVE the height. If you did increase the height what were your reasons? Cheers PJ Hi PJ, for the $$ it's really depends on the size of the house, also if it single or double. i think for double not necessary to upgrade unless you used to it. Mine is single storey about 27sq, upgraded from 2.6 to 2.74 its' cost nearly $6k. Reason i like the ceiling of the display home which is 2.7. For 3m ceiling, you should consider the cost of running aircond as well. by the way, what design are you building? and where about? hope that help. Did anyone have to pay $880 to statewide electrical to connect electricity to house towards end of the build? I was told this by SS Yes, that is correct. We paid the same. It was in our tender/contract. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 611Oct 22, 2013 8:53 am Hey vina and vatche We are reviewing our tender and wondering if that's the following: "The connection of 3 phase service cables to the supply authority network is to be arranged by the owner" If so our sales guy told us that was approx $500-600 to be paid at the end after keys have been received.. Also , this question is for everyone who has already moved in I suppose... Regarding the storm water drainage lines and connection to kerb, our tender says $2450. for hydraulic design. But on our plans it says NO for hydraulic design. Am I right in thinking it would therefore be A LOT less $ since its just some metres of drain pipe?? Has anyone sought a solicitor to review tenders and contracts etc. much like when you purchase the land?? And did anyone actually appoint their own choice of building quality certifier? I read a document published by nsw something or other somewhere that only we the owner of the land can appoint one... That amount is for a 3-phase power connection in the power box, not the actual grid connection. Grid connection is $880 inc GST. I can be corrected. Finally moved in fully to our house on the weekend and just about settled in (all but five boxes). It has been action packed here though since handover due to installations, service providers etc but sitting here now has made it all worthwhile. On the downside - our lovely SS left M last week (glad he waited till we were finished) but he made sure I was introduced to the SS taking over his work who happens to be looking after the site next door. No major problems to record as yet except minor cracking in cornices etc which is due to home settling and mum's vanity basin leaking in her bathroom - plumbers were out here quick and rectified that. Forum is looking packed with new builders - welcome and enjoy the ride - it will be worth it one day.
