Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 12, 2014 1:24 pm Hi As you can see from my other threads, looking at building the Seaview 27 or Seaview 31 (dropping off the theatre room). What would you say about the difference between 2.6 or 2.7? Would you also do these upstairs? I do know higher ceilings make a big difference to feeling spacious, particularly if we do go the 27. Is it necessary upstairs? The Envy upgrade package includes 2.6m to downstairs. Not sure if they factor in the higher doors and adjusted windows for that or not. Re: Ceiling height 2.6m v 2.7 metres 3Aug 12, 2014 5:41 pm I can tell when it's 2.4 straight away, but really struggle to tell the ddifference between 2.6 and 2.7 when I'm in there. Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Ceiling height 2.6m v 2.7 metres 4Aug 12, 2014 6:34 pm Ours is 2.75 downstairs (standard) & 2.6 upstairs ... beware of CDC rules if you want more than 2.6 upstairs, we originally specified 2.75 & 2.75 (for the sake of them being the same) and they had to bring it down a bit so we didn't go over the maximum allowed house height of 8.5m. It's still in construction, but the difference isn't easy to tell, it really doesn't seem to feel any more closed-in upstairs than downstairs. I think if it'd been 2.6m downstairs we'd have been just as happy. I'm with deluxes regarding 2.4m, that always feels crowded. Re: Ceiling height 2.6m v 2.7 metres 5Aug 12, 2014 7:17 pm Thank you, yes 2.4 is definitely too low. It was the difference between 2.6 or 2.7 I was curious about. Of course, you can't change the structure later. I will consider 2.6 throughout or 2.7 down and 2.6 up. Thank you Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1. The builder deconstructs the section and rebuilds as per plan /… 7 10610 ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7712 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
