Thanks Tina, the oak floor was by far the most well spent 'indulgence' we have in our house. any word on when is your build starting? Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 144Oct 30, 2013 7:54 am Thanks Ari...the house internally is slowly coming together...so ill be allowed to post more pics of the house soon Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 146Oct 30, 2013 3:58 pm Agree with ES....Mooorrreeeee please Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 148Oct 31, 2013 9:09 am txateu MOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE???? sorry, I couldn't help myself. im equally keen to post pics as soon as i have the permission of the high command Still underway on getting the outside work completed...we hit a big snag on that front...our landscaper/fencer/concreter is MIA with the 10k deposit and no work was carried out. All this was supposed to be completed before we moved in on the 9th:cry: Anyway, we've are poorer by 10k now and had to again get other trades to finally complete the concreting and fencing. The landscaping will have to wait for later now Stay away from Blitz Outdoor Solutions - Wanye Robinson Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 149Oct 31, 2013 9:22 am Hi ES! (I meant CW. sorry)
Are you saying you are letting your 10k go??? Really can't believe these tradies who take our money and then run away 10k richer while you are 10k poorer. sorry to hear that. >.> Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 150Oct 31, 2013 9:32 am There should be a "Name and Shame" forum sticky....these people should not be allowed to trade at all.
Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 151Oct 31, 2013 9:53 am Well i will be going to VCAT and get an order, but he can still choose not to pay, or cry poor/go bankrupt, either would mean im not getting my money back. The problem is there are too many of them out there, i went through 'serviceseeking' website, which claims you can "trust them" that they have carried out all their checks and what not, but obviously have T&C's in the fine print which spare them from being sued. As much as these websites are convenient, we've learnt the hard way and now only go through recommendations, even if it means they are more expensive. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 152Oct 31, 2013 3:16 pm That's horrible CW! I hope it all works out in your favour... Are their contact numbers still active? I completely agree with the name and shame and think that you have every right to do it. Most websites where you can buy/sell/trade have some form of name and shame. Maybe the moderators will let us open one up. If all else fails, you can always contact today tonight and try and get them to investigate?! I know I would... Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 153Oct 31, 2013 4:26 pm Oh no thats awful! I hope it all works out...Keep us posted - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Renovated...a LOT. Built in 2013. Our thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67954 Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 155Nov 10, 2013 8:48 pm Hey Wacky Any chance you can take a photo of the NBN Box and the Ducted Vacuum unit in the garage? Cheers Buddy Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 156Nov 17, 2013 6:21 am Enjoying your informative feed group. CW and Ari you are keeping me on my toes on what to look out for. We are a knock down rebuild in the inner west with the view for the Amalfi 530. If any one had any advice feel free to give. Appreciate it! Getting nervous and yet to put down the first deposit. Can you negotiate site costs? Apologies if a dumb question but am totally new to this all. Thanks so much for all the great sharing. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 157Nov 20, 2013 11:31 am FF, here are the NBN Box and the Ducted Vacuum units pics... Ask them to install a bigger unit for the NBN boxes...the unit should ideally be able to fit the NBN box, charger and a modem. As you can see ours doesn't....hope this helps. RebuildGirl...welcome! From experience site costs are difficult to negotiate as they are house design specific, however if you can take a punt and not fix your site costs(buy getting an independent soil test done), however, if they(the builder) do find rocks or dinosaur skeletons after that, then you might be up for big expenses. Fixing your site costs is a bit an insurance scheme...many a times its not worth it, but atleast it gives you peace of mind. Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 158Nov 20, 2013 3:35 pm Wacky you forgot to add the pics.. hahah Re: First home build with MainVue - Amalfi532 160Nov 22, 2013 10:31 am Cool, thanks Wacky.....how you liking NBN???
