Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 17, 2013 11:34 am Hello all, Trying to get some advice here... I have seen lots in the forums about people filling up their houses with batten fix lights and having them switched to LED post handover... sounds like a plan at $42 vs $210... but what I want to know is if it is possible to place just one of the batten lights in each room and then have the sparky wire for all 4 LED's from there... can that be done or should I just place all the battens now eliminating the amount of work for the sparky at the end (i.e just switching the fittings rather than also having to run cable etc.) Am I asking a how long is a piece of string type question? Probably! If it is single you can do basically what you want. An electrician can get into the roof space and install the downlights after handover. If you are having a double storey house you need a batten holder for every place you want a downlight.
