Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 14, 2012 5:18 pm We are building in Bridge Inn Rise. Has anyone else had problems with the bushfire rating on their lot? Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 2Jul 17, 2012 10:16 am We were there this weekend and a field immediately next to the estate was covered in kangaroos! So beautiful! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 4Aug 30, 2012 2:52 pm Ours does now, but it was initially assessed at the same level as the homes up in kinglake, just because we are on the edge of the estate next to one field!? Where about are you building, hope it's going well! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 6Sep 03, 2012 11:19 am We are about half way through our build. Our block is on Belmont rise. How are you going looking around all the display homes, to choose a builder. I loved that bit, but I have to admit my husband and kids didn't enjoy it so much Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 8Sep 20, 2012 10:15 pm We went with urbanedge ( they have display homes in wollert under the name '8 homes') We have found them to be very helpful. We are in week 11 of building, and I have just been told the house could be finished within the next 4 weeks. I really couldn't fault them at this point. Feel free to take a look at my blog. Have you got a preferred builder? I have noticed that bentley and simmonds seem to be very popular in stage 2 where we are. Has your land titled now? Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 9Sep 20, 2012 10:36 pm We have narrowed it down to 3... Simmonds, Henley, Burbank- its all very frustrating! Especially all the hidden costs! For example one builders home went up close to $40000 ontop of the price of the home! And that's with NO extras!! Our land got titled on the 11th! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 10Sep 24, 2012 10:30 pm Congratulations on the land! It's insane what some builders class as 'extras'.Still, I think it would be hard to find one who is entirely upfront, I think they like to take advantage of the fact that most of us have never built before, and are really quite confused by the whole process, lol! Have you discussed probable site costs with them all, as I believe the prices can vary quite vastly between different builders! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 11Sep 24, 2012 11:07 pm Yea we have and boy do they vary!!! Lol and I think we may have narrowed it down to 1 builder!!!! Woohoo!! It's all so exciting! We visit our block all the time to see if anyone is doing anything nearby... Nothing yet though!! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 12Sep 27, 2012 1:08 pm Lol, they'll all start soon and then it's amazing how quickly they all appear! Do you know what is happening on the space marked 'medium density housing' up near you? Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 15Sep 28, 2012 6:21 pm Oh, that's good, I've been watching all the issues they are having up in Larimar with the planning application for the 5 storey block of apartments! Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 16Oct 02, 2012 9:07 am I was up at the estate this weekend and noticed the developer hasn't given you any fencing yet. Are they not doing it for you in stage 3? Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 18Oct 03, 2012 1:12 pm They definately did all the fencing in stages 1 and 2. So fingers crossed for stage 3 to. Re: Anyone else building in Bridge Inn Rise? 20Oct 04, 2012 4:25 pm Certainly helps the cashflow, It's quite exciting going up every week and seeing how the whole ares is constantly changing!
