Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 14, 2013 10:59 am My build will be getting underway in the next couple of months (plans are now in council). I decided I need to get organised since there are a lot of things I need to do to make sure everything runs smoothly. After trying a couple of other apps, I eventually found Wunderlist. The thing I really like about this app is that it runs across a wide range of devices, including iPhone/ipad/mac/browser/android/Windows. More complex tasks can be broken down into sub tasks. The only thing I don't like about it is that the functionality is a little too simple. I'd prefer a little more structure to tasks, e.g. Being able to add comments or photos to a task. I've setup a number of projects to keep my task list more organised (House Construction/Finance/Moving/Landscaping). Do you have any tips to share on staying organised? It's a really great product, especially in the new 2013 version. Edit: I forgot to mention I don't like using my phone for note taking in the field, so when out there I use a notepad and pen (a fountain pen, lol). There's something to the tactile feel of paper when taking notes. I also use a camera if need be. When I get home, I can organise it with Onenote, add photos, clippings, web addies, comments etc. Re: Getting organised - todo apps 3Jul 14, 2013 11:31 am Evernote is a great app for storing pictures (such as design or furniture ideas), capturing entire web pages or screen shots. It has an awesome feature 'clip to Evernote' which installs into your browser and you can choose t clip the entire page, or just an article. You can write text, paste links, so it's really an all rounder. You have different notebooks to categorise things. Also has a web version for when you're on your PC/laptop. I will give Evernote a try where I need attachments etc. Might stick with Wunderlist for the time-being. It's a really useful app. Much better than using Dropbox for handy access to PDF files, etc. I've ditched Wunderlist and the other apps I was trying. It works alongside Evernote ( can save to Evernote ). You need an Evernote premium account if you want to use it for more than 30 days.
