Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 12, 2013 6:48 pm Hi Im looking into building my own home, with the prices for renting a property it seems a better option. I have looked at Affordable Living, and read some horror stories there, along with a few others like Celebration and Homebuyers, but I have also come across a place called Freelife Homes that appear to have some reasonable house and land packages, has anyone heard of them as I am unable to find any reviews online. Thanks Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 2Jul 13, 2013 12:06 pm Hi, I have heard of Freelife but only because there is a house being built up the road from me by Freelife but don't know much about them sorry. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 3Jul 13, 2013 12:31 pm Hi sinurt, thanks for the response, I'll keep checking. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 4Jul 13, 2013 12:37 pm Hi Headspin18 Freelife Homes is a division of Capital Works Constructions, who also operate a boutique builder called Visionaire Group who built luxury homes and apartment buildings. They have been around for a good while. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 5Jul 13, 2013 12:58 pm Hi dhalphir Thankyou for the information that helps quite a bit Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 7Jul 13, 2013 7:18 pm Casellmai I'm interested to hear some reviews too! I'm looking at a home and land package with them Hey Casellmai, hopefully someone will see these posts...Ive only spoken to them via email so far...and Im just being as careful as possible...its such a huge step Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 8Jul 14, 2013 2:15 pm i have worked for two different construction materials suppliers, and both dealt with Capital Works. They were always very exacting in their quality requirements, I can think of at least one occasion where the supervisor inspected and rejected a delivery of materials before the tradesmen even arrived on site Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 10Jul 27, 2013 2:48 pm Congrates Casellmai that's great, I hope all goes well ...please let me know how things progress, I am about 2.5 months off being able to start the process and would be very interested to hear how things go for you between now and then Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 11Aug 09, 2013 12:21 pm Hi, I am building with Freelife Homes. I have had multiple issues along the entire build where incorrect materials were delivered and installed even though the plans and addenda say differently. We have called and emailed them multiple times regarding these issues but we are lucky to get a response. Good luck! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 13Aug 09, 2013 10:36 pm Thats disappointing to hear AGJC08, hope things improve for you..please let us know how you go Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 14Aug 16, 2013 11:08 am My Sales Person was Todd, he was amazing. But it went all downhill from Prestart, no communication, incorrect data, we basically did their job for them because they couldn’t get us any quotes for the upgrades we wanted, they delayed prestart, were extremely unorganised, could not answer any of our questions and then at the end when we received all the documentation and variations it was still all wrong. They also tried to make me pay for a $2,000 variation to make the house “4 star energy rating” but I refused because what they were selling me is a house that meets all requirements and the 4 star is a requirement. I am meant to be near PCI but they have made so many mistakes, Wet Area glass is wrong, missing pipes for taps, incorrect basins, incorrect grout, incorrect door handles on the garage doors, incorrect taps installed in locations and incorrect pavers and so much more. When we advise there was an issue they just said "your house will be built to you specifications" but in no way has it, they can’t even fix the errors they have made a make us feel like idiots that we mention they have done it wrong. I do not see how hard it is to read and addenda and order the correct items and install the correct stuff. They were also giving out superseded plans to the trade’s people who meant they were doing what they were told but that was incorrect. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I wish I had found this sooner. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 15Aug 16, 2013 11:32 am AGJC08 My Sales Person was Todd, he was amazing. I am picking up the colour selection file this afternoon. You sound like you've had a truly awful experience. I hope the finished quality of the build, despite all the troubles you've been through will be fine. Do you have a build thread that I can follow? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 16Aug 16, 2013 1:18 pm The Prestart girl I had no longer works there but Todd is really good. I don't have a thread sorry. Hopefully in the end it all works out, I will definatly not be building again. Or if I do I will be owner/builder. Well fingers crossed our pre-start person isn't as difficult as yours Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 18Aug 22, 2013 4:35 pm Slightly gutted to hear about your bad experience and we are currently building through these guys too. However my sales rep is Gary and he seems pretty good. We also had Rob while Gary was away but he was a bit uugh. Currently choosing options, prestart is around Xmas. Will let you guys know how we get on Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 19Aug 22, 2013 5:43 pm Hi Sammm, hopefully it both turns out okay for the both of us! One bad review out of all the customers surely isn't too bad. My pre-start will be shortly after I sign the final building contract mid-september. Will let you know how it goes! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 20Aug 24, 2013 11:45 am Hi I am afraid I am going to make it two bad reviews of this builders- I must say that AGJC08's build sounds like a carbon copy of our construction nightmare. Every step of the way from Pre-start onwards has been a complete mess. So many things incorrect on the addenda I can't list them - and then once that was all sorted out they haven't been able to build to the plans or addenda. We have had incorrect tiling, doors, windows, electrical just to name a few things and like AGJC08 we have pretty much been told to butt out and stop telling them things are incorrect because the house will be 'built to our specifications'. We too were also asked to pay a $2000 variation for the '4 Star Energy Rating' (which we refused!!) It has not been a very pleasant experience! I guess at the end of the day they will have to rectify everything at their cost, but at the same it is delaying completion because they have to keep re-working their mistakes. From what I understand they have primarily built commercial properties and only recently started building residential......I am afraid that I too would not recommend them. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24722 wondering anyone built with omaxe homes and care to share their experiences. thanks 0 13782 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 635 |
