The information is not detrimental to their business. It's not slanderous or defamatory, it's purely fact. I know for a fact Freelife don't have lawyers. So threaten away I say. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 904May 08, 2015 12:36 pm Wouldn't the building commission be interested in knowing the possible links between the companies in light of Freelife's "solution" for those whose houses are yet to even start being built? Does anyone know if that is the case? Yes that's true. BUT it has to be proven. Suppliers and trades have to lodge their complaints with ASIC who will investigate. Almost all suppliers would have made directors a personal guarantor so suppliers can take their personal assets. Unfortunately trades can only lodge a complaint. Speak to ASIC and they'll guide you. Employees can lodge their complaints with ATO. They'll investigate and make the directors personally responsible for PAYG and employee contribution super even if they wind up the business. Speak to ATO and they'll guide you. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 906May 08, 2015 12:41 pm Goodison Wouldn't the building commission be interested in knowing the possible links between the companies in light of Freelife's "solution" for those whose houses are yet to even start being built? Goodison no not really. The BC are just mediators to get a resolution for the client and the builder. At the end of the day, its up to you as a consumer to do your research. The links/ relationships are not illegal to have in place because at the end of the day you're not locked in or forced to sign with any other builder. Choice is 100% up to you who you go with. A residential builder with more than 200 homes under construction has suffered a financial collapse. The directors of Capital Works Construction, the company behind Freelife Homes and Visionaire Homes, called in administrators yesterday. Associated company Capital Construction Hire is also in the hands of insolvency specialists. Admininistrators from Deloitte Restructuring Services said Freelife Homes was building houses for 229 customers and construction for another 84 had not begun. Most of the homes are in metropolitan Perth. The Osborne Park-based business has 24 employees. Joint administrator Jason Tracey said the group had been trying to restructure and sell parts of the business. “Our focus will be on trying to secure in conjunction with the insurer the completion of customer homes and maximise the value of the group’s pipeline works and intellectual property by working closely with existing stakeholders so that we can achieve the best outcome for all parties,” Mr Tracey said. He said the administrators’ review of the group’s financial position were at an early stage. “We appreciate this is a difficult and uncertain time, particularly for customers and employees. “We are committed to communicating with all stakeholders as quickly as possible, but do ask for patience, particularly in these early days of our appointment.” Customers and creditors are advised to call 08 9365 7045 or email freelife@deloitte.com.au First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. I can now go to QBE put in my claim, give them 2 quotes and get my house finished. It has been a long hard road for me but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 910May 11, 2015 4:39 pm As one may guess, my house is in Alkimos, Shorehaven. I'm on Zodiac Drive. I know there are several Ex Freelife homes on Zodiac Drive, Broach Way, Founder Way & Shorehaven Boulevard. It's about 10 roughly and all about lock. Well the Freelife version. If you are out there, would you like to work together. No commitment, but 10 homes to complete in the same area I feel would be more appealing to a builder. Especially as the designs will be that same or slight variation. If interested please PM me. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 911May 11, 2015 5:05 pm In addition to the news article, this is the link to the media release from the Building Commission. The Building Commission has sent out a media release about Freelife. www.commerce.wa.gov.au/announcements/bu ... ty-ltd-reg The important bit Home owners who have entered into a home building work contract with Freelife Homes and have unfinished, faulty or unsatisfactory work should be covered by home indemnity insurance (HII). They are advised to contact the company’s administrators or their insurer, QBE for details of how to lodge an insurance claim. Clients whose building work has not commenced should also contact the administrator or QBE. The administrators can be contacted by email freelife@deloitte.com.au or by phone (08) 9365 7045. Home indemnity insurer QBE can be contacted on 1300 790 723 or builderswarrantyclaims@qbe.com Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 912May 12, 2015 6:23 pm Wow very glad to see some progress for you all!!! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 913May 13, 2015 6:54 pm I would just like to say that my own personal dealings with QBE insurance has been amazing so far!! QBE have been extremely helpful and very supportive. If I have had any questions they are more than happy to try and answer them. Remember to team that its not QBE fault that Freelife Homes have not completed our homes or that Freelife Homes have gone into external Administration. Please give them a chance!! If you have any problems or not sure on your claim or any questions please give QBE a call and ask them rather than post stuff on here or the Freelife Home NIGHTMARES Facebook page running QBE down. Some of the information people are posting is not correct and is freaking other people out. QBE you have a huge job a head of you and good luck!! Keep up the good work. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 914May 14, 2015 7:00 pm Hey did you guys able to get quotes ?????? Any suggestion would be great!!!! I have approached to couple of builders but all of them taking time just curious did anyone got any quotes yet ????? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 915May 14, 2015 7:13 pm Hi, Not really. Still in queue for the builders to carry out visits. I'm assuming 2 weeks for them to get back to us,after all,220+ clients to deal with. Good luck to all of,I hope we get over this soon. Fingers crossed Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 916May 15, 2015 9:39 am I have one quote back, another saying early next week and one that has backed out due to information provided from insurance company and administrators (and this was a company that apparently has had experience dealing with insurance claims). Hopefully something comes out of the client meeting this afternoon as that was my preferred builder - though in the end - just want my house built. Agree with "building 2015", some good info coming out of the nightmares Facebook site but also a lot of repeated posts because people are too lazy to read further down and a lot of posts putting fear in people. It's been a long road this far, it'll be a little bit further and we will get there in the end. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 919May 15, 2015 11:15 pm Hi everyone, I have been concerned about insurance. Indemnity Insurance is taken out by the builder prior to building. How ever it does not cover vandalism, floods weather damage. That type of insurance is called "contracts Works Insurance". I am trying to find out if we are covered, whether it was taken out by the builder. If so is it valid and to what date. Or has the policy been cancelled, if so we aren't protected, until a new company takes over, and that could be weeks. I have been trying to get insurance cover for 3 months but there is no one that I know of who does this, as it's the responsibility of the builder!! who's liquidated. Some one please advise on this as it's stressing me out! Yet another thing to deal with. I also had a call off the supervisor for residential 101. They are one of the companies who have shown an interest to take over the existing house builds. I have looked at their reviews and they sound like freelife all over again!!! I really hope QBE choose wisely as any more hiccups regards building this never ending house will certainly be the "straw that broke the camels back" for me!!! Really can't take any more setbacks. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 920May 15, 2015 11:22 pm Has anyone changed the locks on their doors, if it is at lock up stage? I rang up freelife and they recommended I do this asap. If we have to get quotes from building companies they will need access to the inside, to check pre existing work etc. This can affect the quote. Having mine done in the morning. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24834 I haven’t.
