Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 21Jul 17, 2013 5:04 pm Nice plan bentwagon. There was a similar large block that sold for a bargain near us, over in the far west of Node 1, that similarly had a large central tree. Some how it disappeared! I'm sure there will be plenty of fill available in your Node to build up the bottom of your block if you want. Nothing too major - just annoying. 1 - Remove reference to "future alfresco" 2 - Fence and retaining wall details - like we have much of a choice in Blackwood Park... 3 - Choise of 5000L independant or 2000L mains connected fire water tank 4 - Landscaping plan. Back to council this week - i hope. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 24Sep 03, 2013 4:14 pm Oh, that's a shame. What's holding things up? It is such a glorious plan, and piece of land, it must be difficult playing the waiting game. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 25Sep 03, 2013 4:20 pm Lets see.. initial items listed above.. then building corner outside of building envelope by 180mm?? requiring extra setback by 2.5m (all of front elevation to be setback to 5m mark) which meant the rear of the house would be 2-2.5 m over building envelope... then outside privacy area concerns... hopefully getting sorted this week Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 26Sep 17, 2013 12:37 pm So after applying for planning approval July 11th, we were just informed today - 9.5 weeks later, that it will get passed but has to go to the Development Assessment Panel... in November - not very happy, looks like building cant start til next year. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 27Sep 17, 2013 12:58 pm Good news that it will be passed but the length of time it takes is a shame. Should be worth it though, to have the home that you want without too much compromise. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 28Sep 17, 2013 2:27 pm November seems a long time before moving to the next stage--small council? Look at it this way, October is nearly here, so November's not far behind. And it is good news to get first stage approval. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 29Sep 17, 2013 2:37 pm Well, after my wife had a discussion with the council, and then the builder, it seems the builder has penciled in the slab pour for December... Better result than what we had hoped for. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 31Oct 31, 2013 12:45 pm Well, its 16 weeks to the day that our plans went in for planning approval, due for DAP meeting Nov 7th.... although now the council believes it wont need to go to the meeting!!??!! Meaning the 6 weeks it should have taken went ten weeks over and with the way things are going the DAP may have been the quickest option. Ah well, at least we finished all our selections yesterday. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 32Oct 31, 2013 1:14 pm Hope you get approval soon--you deserve it after that long a wait. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 36Nov 20, 2013 8:31 am Yay! a slab before Christmas. You've waited long enough. Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 39Nov 29, 2013 12:47 pm Well, the plot thickens... after finalizing our selections on Tuesday, we were told that due to our new window selections we need to have the plan go back to council...? No slab before xmas. Hopefully they will cut the block before xmas so we can get our retaining walls done. GRRRR Re: Blackwood Park - SA - Building our home 40Nov 29, 2013 2:41 pm I feel for you. We were going to increase our window height but decided against it when we realised it had to go back through council. I wish the process was a bit clearer. What windows did you pick? We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds.
