Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 41Aug 09, 2013 2:23 pm Do you represent Mirvac? Why are you taking this personal? Who is ripping whom? Who mentioned that someone is ripping someone? If there are restrictions or charges they have to be told upfront? So think when you advice. Who said that we have not done our homework? Who are you to judge if I have not done my homework? Reputable or not who are you to decide? Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 42Aug 09, 2013 3:28 pm Hahaha, no I do not represent Mirvac. And I'm not taking it personally. Just letting you know my opinion mate. I think you should be asking the people at Mirvac more than people on a forum. What are you going to do? say to them "oh but some random on a forum told me..." ? They probably did tell you up front. Just because they didn't blatantly say it to you, they probably had it mentioned in your paperwork somewhere. That's why it seems to me you didn't do your homework. I'm over people blaming sales people when they didn't read or understand what was told to them originally. You are making a massive decision building a house, you have some responsibility to know what you're entering into. You cant just expect that everything will be spoon fed to you. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 43Aug 09, 2013 4:01 pm Its not about blaming sales persons, its about whats was originally communicated what its turns out to be. When Sales person says for two wall extension it would be 500$ (Same was communicated by two different sales person) but when it turns to be 6K than its a problem however when it got rectified and Mirvac was able to honour that price. Point is Mistake/mis communication can happen by anyone and not expecting sales person to spoon feed but its about declaring things upfront so we know what we are entering into. Its individual responsibilities to read the fine prints. From memory I was told verbally two tenders are free but if I want to get more than it will be on cost but again I dont have written document which represent that. I checked all documents which I have. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 44Aug 09, 2013 4:10 pm Verbal means almost nothing now days. If you want to really make sure of something get them to put it in writing. Otherwise its just he-said-she-said. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 47Aug 09, 2013 4:59 pm ace14 Agreed, everything needs to be in writing. Avinashr did you already have asked for two tender ? I wont answer this question for him/her. But ill give my opinion. By the sounds he has had a few tenders already. Swapping and changing designs etc. I think that may be why they are starting to want to get some money out of him. Please Avinashr correct me if I'm wrong. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 48Aug 09, 2013 5:01 pm ace14 joshnjacqui welcome to the thread. Are you building in Parkside or which house design you are going with? Thanks, We are building with Mirvac at Spring Farm. Building a Leura design. Was just reading this thread to see how others are progressing, even though it is a different estate. Same company and designs. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 49Aug 09, 2013 5:10 pm Great! Leura is good design. All Parksiders are far behind as estate hasn't started to develop yet. Your feedback would helps us as spring farm is ready and what's happening at your part of the world. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 53Aug 10, 2013 8:58 am ace14 joshnjacqui what stage you are at? Are you in construction phase? Hopefully we will be soon, plans have been submitted for approval through a private certifier. We didn't have to go to council because we were lucky enough to fall under some complying development rules which meant they could use a private firm for approval. Its supposed to only take 2 or 3 weeks, so we should have approval soon. then they can start! Exciting times! We are very happy with Mirvac so far, but the real test will be once construction starts I guess. Re: Building With Mirvac @ Parkside Estate, Glenfield. 57Aug 15, 2013 5:29 pm Cool. @ace14 .we stuck to our original design and made a few minor amendments. I don't think Mirvac has started any work on the estate yet and highly doubt that it will be registered by Nov. Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30235 |
