Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 21Sep 09, 2013 4:28 pm hey SimiA, i believe its the whole release. so its the Whiltshire release which incorporates Kalbarri, Whiltshire and Hilliger. if you need any clarification, hit up the guy in the sales office? but from my understanding its the whole release that gets submitted to landgate on a whole and at the moment they are behind schedule. They have upped the workers though up there so thats a good sign Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 23Sep 10, 2013 6:48 pm Hi macfox, Sounds very similar to my situation with the whole stressfulness over loosing the land. I found that when our land people gave our sales rep a call they seemed to get a bit of a move on!! We are still waiting a call or letter for our prestart but arnt in too much of a hurry as I'm yet to go through our plans with a fine tooth comb and change a few bits and pieces. Hope it all works out for you and homestart get it all done before you have to leave cause its not a nice situation to be in Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 24Sep 11, 2013 2:49 pm Formal approval of our loan just got received We have a loan yay! now cant wait to start building!! haha Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 26Sep 11, 2013 6:40 pm Well in the confirmation email to the land agent I asked about how the block titles are released and he confirmed that they are all released at the same time and at this stage they are looking at late October early November Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 27Nov 04, 2013 3:07 pm Just a quick update, had a letter in the mail a few weeks ago saying titles wont be released till end of november.. *sigh*. Also still waiting on pre-start. Haven't heard anything from homestart and seeing as titles are coming up soon i decided to start inquiring. Our finance lady said she would put a word in when she asked and i said i hadn't heard anything. Then decided to email our "pre-start contact" to which i never received a reply. So i emailed the sales rep who seems to be the most helpful so far who replied saying he has forwarded my email on and escalated it to management. He also apologised for the lack of response and said that they are short staffed in the "pre-start" area and are behind however they should be in touch so we can get things moving. Anyway that was Friday so ill give it a few more days and if things still haven't improved i might have to try find someone from management's phone number... as i want everything sorted before titles are released so we can start building right away! Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 28Jan 14, 2014 9:39 am UPDATE! Since my last post a few things have happened. Our pre-start contact called me shortly after we had contacted the sales rep, and advised that we couldnt do pre-start till titles had been released so they could do the soil sample test? im not sure how true this is though as we know people who did pre-start before their titles got released.. can anyone confirm? Also our titles were released on 20/12/2013 and settlement date is today we have also booked pre-start in for 20/01/2014 getting excited that we will be able to see some progress soon after waiting so long for the titles Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 30Jan 20, 2014 11:59 pm We've just settled on our block near the top of Hilliger Turn as well. Happy to make contact with people in the area and on our street so if that's you free to send me a message and make contact Our plans are pretty much good to go (Dale Alcock) and City of Swan can be pretty quick to turn around on approvals - I think some as quick as just a couple of days - so guessing we'll start seeing the race to slab down kick in soon Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 31Jan 21, 2014 10:50 am Hi Macfox, Did pre-start yesterday and everything went well just over 1k in extra stuff but that was going easy on most things. Most of that cost was for conduiting and a couple of power points. Soakwells were included for us. didnt show up on plans until we saw the ones at pre-start so might want to check that No structural changes were allowed at pre-start Good to see more people from jane brook joining up czerney will have to see who's slab gets put down first haha Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 32Jan 21, 2014 11:40 am awesome news SimiA. We are waiting on the Site Survey to come back then we can book in Prestart, We made all structural changes at the prelim contract date. Looking forward to seeing all these houses start going up Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 33Jan 24, 2014 12:19 am Hi simiA Saw yr mention regarding soil samples and pre-start. I think it depends a lot on which builder you're going through? we are using Dale Alcock land they allowed us to go through pre-start & soil testing and preparing plans well before the titles and settlement had occurred. We're probably a couple of weeks away from going to construction. Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 34Jan 24, 2014 6:52 pm Hi everyone, I've just had settlement on our block in the Highland estate too!! How exciting -- We're all neighbours! Building with HomeGroup WA, still have another 3-4 weeks on our documents left and then Prestart. Super exciting!! Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 36Apr 05, 2014 4:53 pm Hi All, Sorry i haven't replied i never received any notifications that people were posting anyway to begin this is an update that we have site-works started early this week, the re-bar has arrived and the plumbing looks like it started today getting ready for the pad to go down. Now onto you Macfox, i am totally in agreeance with you regarding homestarts poor communication. Besides our salesperson every other person so far we have tried to call/email takes alot of effort to get on the phone or a reply. Our building contact at the moment does seem to be very on the ball however still cant guarantee dates/times. I did send the poor girl a very nasty email explaining our situation (was explained to us that paperwork stage takes about 6mnths then build time is 6mnths) and we have just ticked over the 12mnth mark and not even a slab yet. Anyway i asked her to pass our complaint on to customer service and iv heard back from her but not from them yet so we will see. Thanks for the info regarding power/water ill keep a close eye on that as i can go past the house everyday on the way home.. However after getting more communication in with our building contact things have started to happen quite quickly. She originally said site-works would start close to the end of this week however i noticed that the site-works had started Monday/Tuesday. So hopefully more good things to come but still not holding my breath.. hope things start working out for you Macfox please keep in touch and hopefully we can compare notes throughout our builds.. Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 38Apr 22, 2014 10:35 pm Hi Macfox, I was gobsmacked to hear about your builder wanting YOU to make the changes!!! Utterly ridiculous! They would have known what was going on and simply decided that they would simply put the difficulties on you and the other persons involved. My partner and I are building with HomeGroupWA. Although we are still waiting on scheduling to finish, we do know that our neighbours are building with the same company.. our sales man actually went out of his way to make sure their house looks nothing like ours. Hopefully you'll see some productive action soon - and all your worries will float away once you see the house beginning to take shape! Have you been up to the blocks lately? I went up last week and they've continued the larger lots.. it looks amazing!! So peaceful and lovely Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 39Apr 28, 2014 10:40 am Hi All, Havent updated in a little while but we had our slab poured on the 8/04/2014 and over the past week everything has started to be delievered bricks, sand, toilet, tool shed etc cannot wait till the first few bricks get laid Re: Building first home Jane Brook WA - Rendezvous by Homest 40May 07, 2014 9:11 pm Great news We are building with Homestart also so will be following your build closely!
