Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - PCI completed 441Jul 21, 2015 9:04 am Hi sinurt, how did the meeting go today? I hope it wasn't too frustrating and that you can get your keys in time for the deliveries and internet installation. You'd think the building companies want to finish things off on a high note for their customers but it seems to be the opposite for most builds! I'll keep fingers crossed it went well - and looking forward to your updated pics Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - PCI completed 442Jul 21, 2015 10:16 am Updates please!! First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. My build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69032 Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 444Jul 21, 2015 10:24 pm lol sorry for the delay in posting, its been a bit of a mad day. So final inspection was yesterday morning and it was the first time the SS had been there since the first PCI as he was on leave. He was NOT happy as very little had been done, however he did say we could get the keys and he would get the jobs finished asap. However the mortgage wasn't through Anyhoo yesterday was a no go but got a phone call this morning that all was good so I went up to the office at lunchtime from work for the handover and got the keys yay Finally got into the house when I got home from work, got in the garage and discovered that our Intelligent homes box had been broken into and all the stuff stolen (literally cut all the wires) - not happy especially given that we had checked it the other Saturday and the temp SS had come out on the following Tuesday and closed the garage door!!!! Why do I always have a good news/bad news story??!!! Phoned our CA and she was straight onto the SS and he was straight onto Intelligent Homes so hopefully will get it sorted asap!! Oh and on checking the house today most of the other jobs from PCI have been fixed yay. Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 445Jul 21, 2015 11:49 pm OMG, you made it!!!!! Congrats!!!! Good that the SS is on top of things. I have heard horror stories about builders become slow in fixing after they got their money. Wow....how did they even get into the garage if it was locked? This somehow suggests me that it might be a better idea for me to wait the NBN box installation after moving in. I really have no idea why one would steal taps, wires, bricks etc. Bizzarre....... CONGRATULATIONS!! (It is definitely favourite smiley time ) Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 447Jul 22, 2015 10:38 am Yayyyyyy the best news ever!! So happy you finally got your keys and they had come to fix most of the things straight after. Bummer about the smart wiring! Hopefully they can replace/fix it under insurance for you. The house looks fantastic! Have fun setting up My thread - viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 448Jul 22, 2015 10:44 am congrats on the keys! How exciting! Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 449Jul 22, 2015 11:57 am Congratulations on getting your keys! Woohoo! I hope the other stuff gets sorted out asap for you, how on earth did they get into your intelligent homes box? Why would you bother vandalising it like that? some people are weird Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 450Jul 23, 2015 10:23 pm Thanks all, been super busy this week trying to get the place ready for moving in. Have almost all of the walls all coated with the sealer stuff now and will just paint in stages I think. We have the Intelligent Homes people coming out on Monday to refit the box which is good but we did manage to get the internet installed ok anyway as thankfully they hadn't touched the NBN wire!! Got our bins delivered and hopefully the fencing guys will come early next week - they were supposed to come this week but didn't At least its all coming together anyway and I just love the house, plus its so much warmer than our rental - just hope it doesn't stay that way in summer I have no idea why someone would steal the stuff but in my opinion it was a contractor who did it as they had to have a key to get into house, and someone who knew what they were doing as they obviously had wire cutters with them and they also popped out the locks on the box Oh well at least it is being fixed at no cost to us! Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 451Jul 24, 2015 8:33 am Wow moving at light speed! Did you do the priming yourself or get someone in to do it? I can't wait to live in a warm house! Ours is freezing and we were just saying last night because it is soooooo old the batts have probably been eaten away by mice lol I think you will find that the brand new installation will make it cool in summer and warm in winter I am looking up to how quick yours went in those final weeks (probably didn't feel quick for you though) in anticipation of how hopefully we will be at the same stage as you soon!! My thread - viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 452Jul 24, 2015 12:46 pm Congrats!! Hope you will have pleasant experience with post hand over journey as well. Are you happy with your builder so far? Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - We have KEYS!!! 453Jul 25, 2015 9:23 pm Sounds like you've been a bit busy will keep everything crossed the fence gets installed next week! Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - Moved in :) 454Jul 28, 2015 9:30 pm Well we managed to get moved in over the weekend yay Hired a van and picked it up on Friday evening so got the beds and bits and pieces down then and stayed here on the Friday night before moving everything else down on Saturday. House is still not set up right so I will hold off on pics for now Still have to paint too, we did the sealing/binding stuff ourselves so at least that is done!! Since moving in discovered a few issues, under kitchen sink is still leaking and there is something weird going on with lights in main living area but we called our CA and getting an electrician out for lights on OH fixed the leak!! OH was off yesterday and our SS actually was in the area and stopped by to see how things were Also may need to get an additional downpipe on house in porch (spotted a damp patch there in rain) I have to say I do love my house - it is so much bigger than our rental and the kitchen is amazing there is so much room. However I don't think I would EVER want to build again. Its been one loooooooooong slooooooooooooow process, yes I am happy with the end result but never again Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - Moved in!! 455Jul 29, 2015 4:44 am Auh congratulations on moving in It is so lovely to hear you're loving your house and are settling in well. Good luck with getting the niggles fixed Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - Moved in!! 456Jul 29, 2015 12:34 pm Awesome news sinurt, so pumped for you! I'm excited for but also dreading the moving process at the same time. Picking up appliances and furniture seems pretty easy, but packing up and moving my current bed, belongings etc from home to the new house isn't going to be so fun! Did it take you long to get it all in and somewhat set up? I have this vision of getting everything in and set up perfectly in somewhat (figuratively speaking) the blink of an eye, yet I understand it may be completely different to what I imagine! Must be such a relief knowing it's done and dusted! It's good that the CLO and SS are still being proactive with getting things sorted for you My thread - viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Commodore Homes Build in Wellard WA - Moved in!! 458Jul 29, 2015 12:48 pm Haha BS12 I have the same thought in my head, i'll move in and within a day it'll all be perfectly pretty and in it's place and unpacked....then my partner wakes me up from my dream and reminds me it won't :p Congrats on moving in so smoothly Sinurt! Look forward to seeing photos and that's nice of the SS to pop in and check on you and getting things fixed so quickly. I don't want to build again either but to get my dream home I'm going to have to I think it would be less painful living in your own home whilst building rather than a rental. Because we still need to paint though we have not setup several of the rooms properly and currently both my boys are in the same room while we paint one room then move them and paint the other one!! Garage is full of boxes as is the spare room, although I reckon most of the stuff might well stay in boxes Oh and I have booked in my landscape consultation for the first available date - which is not till 10th August but still at least its booked in. Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10920 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 8962 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17516 |
