There's some really good testimonials on their website, and I've met one of the people who wrote one of them and she was very enthusiastic. I haven't built with them yet myself, but we have hilly country land and will be looking at them for a knock down rebuild. My advice is contact them and ask to talk to their previous clients, there's really no better way to find out about a company, if they do good quality and work with the landscape, and generally make the process a good one. Hi Did you decide to use this company? I am thinking about using them but same as you, cant see much feedback Re: Company called Sloping Block Solutions 5Sep 26, 2013 11:09 am Suggest you give them a ring and ask to speak to clients. At the end of the day, this is a pretty good gauge of a company, as most clients will have had some challenges along the way and will give you their story, warts and all, and you can see what the over-all experience was like. You can also check and see if there's anything on Product Review site. Sometimes forums are slanted towards people who've had negative experiences so if a builder is doing their job well... You need to check some other avenues too. Re: Company called Sloping Block Solutions 6Sep 30, 2013 12:12 pm I am currently working with Sloping Block Solutions on my new home project in Bayswater, my block is quite hilly with a slope of 3 metres to the road. When I spoke to all the usual builders I was told horror stories with prices to match ( one quoted me $120k site cost, then said they wouldn't build it anyway). I have found John Kearney to be honest and realistic from the outset, he met with us at our home after visiting the block and gave us an estimate to build. he prepared preliminary sketches until we were satisfied and then provided us with a detailed quote which was in line with the original estimate. We are currently waiting for contracts to be prepared, I will keep you informed as we progress. Re: Company called Sloping Block Solutions 7Sep 30, 2013 7:08 pm Hi Annie9072 I've just been floating around looking things up and found mention of "Sloping Block Solutions" and this forum. I wish I'd found it a year or two ago! However, in view of your concerns with a company with which I have had extensive dealings, I thought I should put my five eggs worth in! I understand the trepidation with which anyone approaches a major undertaking like knocking down your old home and building new - really scary stuff and it's hard to know who to trust. My situation was slightly different to "2-Oldmates", but the end result is the same. I've been dealing with John Kearney for over two years now on this project (I was a bit slow out of the blocks!) and he has always been available to answer those weird questions that seem to pop up in the middle of the night (don't get me wrong - I didn't ring him in the middle of the night, but chased him up first thing in the morning!). If you have a look at my user name, you'll see I'm one and the same as one of the testimonials on John's home page, and I stick by what I said there. We're almost at the end of our project now, and John still deals with any questions we have in the same patient and intelligent way he has from the very beginning. I'm not sure how this forum works, but if you want to contact me directly, you're more than welcome to do so. ColleenW Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with.
