Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 08, 2013 1:45 pm Hi All, Has anyone built their house using dark bricks and a light coloured roof? We are thinking Boral Mocha / Brown Terrain for the bricks but for energy efficiency we'd like to have a light coloured colour bond roof (Surfmist, Evening Haze, Shale Gray or Dun). For window's we're thinking Black but possibly White may look better? We've been for a drive around, this combination is almost unheard of. If anyone has any photos to share that would be great. Re: Dark Bricks with a Light Coloured Roof 5Jul 08, 2013 5:27 pm this one had a cream roof, I can imagine shale would look better Re: Dark Bricks with a Light Coloured Roof 6Jul 08, 2013 5:44 pm I recently built with light colour and looks great, you wouldn't believe it how much light colour effects esp colorbond. Dark color absorbs the light while the light color reflects basic thing. You can browse to my blog and see but my bricks are not very dark. We upgraded insulation and we dont need to turn on the heater this winter at night. Re: Dark Bricks with a Light Coloured Roof 7Jul 08, 2013 9:23 pm Hi Everyone, Thanks for your replies.
