I wish we have full height tiling. thanks janicec, the full height tiling is one of the thing that I am happy we did, plus saves re-painting the walls, I am really pleased with the tiling standard and how it looks, cant wait to get in and have more pics as nothing looks good through dusty windows. not too long and you will have your keys to your own home!, so exciting! building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Waiting For PCI Date 211Feb 12, 2014 5:31 pm so we have been told late last week that the site ss would be inspecting the site to see what needs to be finished, so far no action on site, just hoping they get it all finished this week and its not a wasted week of nothing. we have had some good news with the boundary fence, they will be going out to site to measure this week and it should be installed in around 2 weeks building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Did I say We Have A PCI Date 212Feb 13, 2014 8:40 pm in other non-build related issues, today has been a day full of stress, but seems our little issue hopefully will be sorted sometime tomorrow. oh well on build related news this week so far they haven't done anything, we thought maybe they might have done the commissioning but I guess that will hopefully all be done next week, so our house as only seen the sunrise and sunset this week, no tradie friends but we got a call and we have a PCI date, for next Friday!!!!! party mode building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- PCI Done & Dusted 214Feb 22, 2014 4:16 pm wow I really cant believe how lucky or fortunate we have been throughout this build process, our independent building inspector so far throughout the entire build as found "one nail hole in our verandah" not a real big deal in comparison to a lot of things that really could have gone wrong. so why would our PCI be any different PCI issues that were raised included: our garage beam needs to be painted the correct colour, although they already knew this unfortunately the painter once again has let them down, the painter quality was good, but his slow attitude is really annoying, not really an ALH issues as trades do as they please. small damage to paving at the bottom, which more than likely occurred due to site works and scrape of next door as they are only just starting their construction journey. and we need our bathroom and ensuite mixers and one hand shower which are on back order. the ss and build inspector really liked our design choices and especially the kitchen tiles and how well it works, yay it paid off, and hubby again agreed that 1: I have good taste lol and that he should just listen to everything I say lol, although he already does! our building inspector also mentioned that our tiling work was one of the best they have seen! I think we really need to commend the quality of trades we have had, everything from slab, brick work, roofing etc have been of high quality and some of the best the building inspector has seen. im actually sad to see our building adventure wrap up and I really hope that we can build again as it has been a truly wonderful, frustration and long journey of wonderful results. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- PCI done & dusted + PICS 215Feb 22, 2014 5:55 pm Hi KGJ,I just read over your thread, we are hoping to go to site early next month also building with ALH. Your thread has put my mind at rest with time frames. im glad to hear that my journey has given you some reassurance, I hope that your building adventure is as successful and stress free as ours has been. I know we waited a while for our earthworks and slab to go down, but once it was down and down it really went super fast, we found out when we got our roof timbers we were actually 2 months behind schedule but we also has the worst weather last august-September 2013. I look forward to following your build. janicec Congrats thanks Janicec your house is looking amazing, I love your walk in robe fit out, simply amazing, you have given me ideas bradster181 Looks great, well done thanks bradster, it has been a wonderful and almost stress free build, but it was totally 100% worth it, you seemed to have settled well and your pool is a fabulous! fmac So glad to hear things went well!! I am so jealous of your full height tiling, one of my 'in hindsight' I wish we'd done it as I don't think it would have cost that much and it looks so good! We have 6 months maintenance meeting Tuesday (hard to believe its been that long!), youll be moved in before you know it!! the kitchen and bathroom looks very nice, and I don't think we can imagine it any other way atm, im glad I pushed for it as hubby wast too keen, but he does agree it was worth it, plus the kitchen tiles just wouldn't have worked as standard, ill have to upload a pic of it when we get in, surprise we didn't get a pic of the kitchen to much to see and touch lol. not sure when we will be in, we have to have PCI 2? is this the same as handover? we are still waiting for a date for our next PCI I would say it is all depended on the painter as he was meant to have done the touch ups on Thursday so finger crossed he shows up like he promised tomorrow, we have a feeling that the new SS wont take any ones Sugar Honey Ice Tea as Monday is the deadline for him to turn up or the work is going to someone else soo very happy as he seems on the ball, he has only been our ss for a week or 2 and he mentioned all the touch up without us bring them up! winning much! I thought you would also like to know I will be taking a trip to vast to look for a table for our alfresco similar to yours, I love the natural/rustic and timbers and wrought iron feel. I cant believe its been 6 months already, hope it all goes well, keep us posted, building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- PCI done & dusted + PICS 220Feb 24, 2014 7:52 pm just a quick question, I was wondering if anyone got their locks re-keyed when they moved in? building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110560 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11033 |
