Is there something there to lead to the kink? Because it does look quite extreme!
uhm nothing in the way, I think they kinked it to be symmetrical but to me it looks different to the plans ever so slightly, is it just me or do you all see it too?

Are you going to fence in the front as well? Thanks to the wedge shape of the block you've got a pretty big front yard! Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 183Jan 15, 2014 1:14 am fmac Yeah looks a little more dramatic in the photo! Are you going to fence in the front as well? Thanks to the wedge shape of the block you've got a pretty big front yard! we are a little lucky with the space we have out the back and front, we have a bit of space on the side for a "man shed" if needed, we will be fencing the front but don't want it to be closed off as such, they are in the process of starting earthworks next door and are waiting to see what we can do with our fence, due to estate regulations it comes up to the front and rakes down, but our house is quite far back in-comparison to all most every house in the estate. thinking about it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to fence it off completely either as we could use the front to add to the outdoor space, maybe we could fence it off just near the front pillar. mmm more to think about now building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 184Jan 16, 2014 12:19 am OMG we got inside, someone left a window wide open lol (this is what happens when you leave your camera in the car and hubby takes photos) so the kitchen had the range hood installed and that feature wall looks even more amazing! http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y533/KGJBUILD13/20140115_181139_zps5ab59db1.jpg I must say they have done an amazing job with the tiling, i was really worried about the standard as I have seen some very poorly laid tiles in our street, not that I have been snooping at the neighbours houses, how neighbourly would that be i am just happy happy happy they did a good job! http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y533/KGJBUILD13/20140115_180857_zps0b5bd9aa.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y533/KGJBUILD13/20140115_180849_zps0b57d0e3.jpg painting well lets just hope this is the first coat! but u get an idea of colour, yes boring we went with white illusion http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y533/KGJBUILD13/20140115_1813271_zps329750f5.jpg we also discovered the front of the house is actually that colour, they will be painting the beam before PCI to be the same colour as the render and I hope they give it a third coat as it is a little patchy around the front door, they also finished the paving at the front so now just the alfresco... are thinking a light grey cladding on the pillars and bullnose paving to the edges of planter boxes in a stone or natural colour to help break up all the white and green tone & textured plants. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 185Jan 16, 2014 12:31 am Looking good, I hope you locked the place up as you left Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 186Jan 16, 2014 12:40 am bradster181 Looking good, I hope you locked the place up as you left thanks lol, trust me I locked it well, I closed ALL the windows and we escaped out of one of the front window lol, it was nice to be inside and to finally look at all those things you just cant see. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 187Jan 16, 2014 10:16 am playing around with possible fencing ideas, to include part of the font yard to our backyard space, so pros are more backyard space and more privacy, cons it may look very strange and the fence will have to be wizard blue very similar I think yellow would be the way to go if we went ahead. Many have used some different ways other then colourbond. Makes it look quite open but private at the same time. Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 190Jan 16, 2014 11:08 pm LeanneR Def go the yellow, extra corner of space isn't going to be that useful so true and we don't need another triangle to try an mow fmac Also take a walk/drive around and you'll see some ways people have closed in their front yard. Makes it look quite open but private at the same time. we were thinking if we do it possible bricked with wood look panels in same colour as the garage, but I think I will need to do some more research on it just a quick question does any one know the kitchen company used for builds in perth, I saw it on a thread but now cant find it for the life of me, we think they are located in Rockingham or at least SOR but are unsure, we would like to contact them to get a quote for some possible work. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 191Jan 16, 2014 11:20 pm The one Aussie uses is down south but can't remember the name. It was in rockingham or mandurah from memory. There is something similar to that fencing on a house on Kemp street, I saw it when I was walking today was what I thought might work for your place, there is another really nice one I walk past but I can't remember the street so I'll pay attention next time Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 192Jan 16, 2014 11:24 pm fmac The one Aussie uses is down south but can't remember the name. Our PCI was delayed due to the electrician not turning up! They won't do PCI without HWS connected! The painting is probably nearly a weeks work, ours we organised and I think was 3 full days of work but they said its actually better to do the sealer a few days before painting. From memory it was about 2 weeks from commissioning to handover. Blinds went in before flooring. Bt why 3 weeks from PCI to keys? It's meant to be 10 days!! Ours was exactly 10 working days Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 197Jan 18, 2014 1:33 am fmac It took two weeks for the, basically to get our HW system connected!! Ours was exactly 10 working days wow, that is a long time just to connect a hot water system, our hot water system is at the property just waiting for connection, at the moment the painting is taking the time, they started just before Christmas, exterior was painted, interior ceiling and a sealer was placed on the wall and they started the doors and placed gloss on door frames. since returning from xmas break they have cut in some of the walls and other walls have been painted and not cut in, so far its just over a week since they have even been on site to complete the painting. im just hoping that their time frame has a little flexibility accounted for. One of the other houses that has just been handed over had their handover or PCI 2 cancelled this morning so will have handover just over 3 weeks after PCI, this bit sure does drag and they sure don't seem to utilise as much of the week as the possibly could with trades, im sure its not an easy job to manage trades and im not sure if I could do a better job either. oh well it guess it is almost over cant wait! I guess we cant really complain as we have had a VERY OUTSTANDING build in regards to quality, so I guess I should just be happy at how lucky we have been, a big thanks should really go to all the trades, as without their high standard of work our house would been as amazing and our build experience wouldn't have been as positive as this, I would definitely like to build again and would recommend ALH, just be prepared for waiting in the initial stages, but once they start it will move quickly. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 198Jan 18, 2014 2:50 pm looking good! we're nearly there I started to really appreciate what the builder has done for us now that I've started getting quotes from many trades, they don't even turn up and don't pick up the phone. It's frustrating! Unexpected delay and minor errors are inevitable I think, you'll be enjoying a beautiful new home very soon Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 199Jan 18, 2014 4:05 pm Yeah the last bit dies drag! We had handover 20 weeks from slab down from memory but we'd have preferred to have waited to have things done properly! Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- painting and paving 200Jan 18, 2014 7:52 pm totally agree, I don't think I could do a better job and I don't think I would like all the added stress. im am busy distracting myself with ideas for plants for our planter boxes, I will update with some plant ideas, landscaping the garden I think will be a growing process over time, at the moment I think we are just content with grass, and maybe using the back corner of our garden to plant some Yucca, a dragon tree and some cacti just to help even the garden space out a little more. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110585 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
