Not long now and you'll be able to enjoy your lovely house! okay thanks, I was just confused as I was under the assumption that now that our actual locks have been installed that they were not longer using trade keys as our SS has been letting trades in, stress less my husband would tell me lol we had a winning today in regards to the driveway, which our inspector was going to investigate as he agreed it looked off, but needed to look further at the plans. We weren't happy with how it looked when it was first done and mentioned something as it looked slightly different from the plan. Our old SS said he measured it and was correct before they cemented it in, the building inspector has confirmed that it is slightly wrong on the left side of the drive, and will be fixed, as you can see from the report the first kink is correct, but what we suspected was the second kink was 4-5 pavers lower down, overall the shape is almost correct. They need to fix the bottom of the drive due to damage, which we suspected happened when the scraped the land next door so a little more wont hurt. I realise they have multiple jobs etc at one time, but seriously don't bother if that all you can do for a day. this is the same painter that took 6 weeks to paint our house, we would have preferred a different painter, but ALH said he is the one who has to do they work as he is the original painter building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- PCI done & dusted + PICS 225Feb 27, 2014 7:58 pm yay! we have got our boundary fence skeleton up! which means that we can organise for our trades for gates and fencing to come out and measure, as it is a 2 week wait from measurements at least something is happening. that all that I can say has been done today the saga of the sloth painter continues, todays adventure resulted in no painting work being done. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Waiting 226Feb 27, 2014 11:02 pm think of it this way, the painting is going to be perfect when it's finished Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Waiting 227Feb 27, 2014 11:17 pm janicec think of it this way, the painting is going to be perfect when it's finished I can only hope so as he is fixing his work, its really painting that our building inspector and SS picked up that needed to be re-done, but I guess that is one way to look at it lol, positivity is sometimes the key I have learnt. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Breaking Point 228Mar 04, 2014 8:21 pm okay just because everyone like a awesome whinge lol I think we have finally reached breaking point, we had PCI 7 working days ago, and walked away with a list of work that would have only required maybe 4 days of work, with painter and electrician already scheduled to completed work the following week. over the last few days they painter still hasn't completed or returned to site , the electrician has completed his part and the final tipping point is that the paver trades have been today and fixed the cracking to the lower part of the driveway but not fixed the shape as requested by site ss, and to make it more annoying we cant contact the clo as she in not in today. although we haven't had many issues throughout the build, these small things are really becoming frustrating to a point were I am more excited about other things than moving in and enjoying this house, and really this should be an exciting time, but I guess I was over it a while ago. so far it has been 12 weeks since lock up and reaching almost 10 days since PCI, maybe my expectations are higher than what I should have? on a plus the land developers fence contractors have finished the fence woop, cants say blue is a colour of choice whinge over for now! building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Breaking Point 229Mar 04, 2014 8:50 pm Not to high and expectations! We got our keys exactly 10 working days after PCI and our list was much longer then yours! I hope it gets sorted quickly!! Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- Breaking Point 230Mar 04, 2014 9:14 pm fmac Not to high and expectations! We got our keys exactly 10 working days after PCI and our list was much longer then yours! I hope it gets sorted quickly!! we are still hopeful, but are a little disappointed that the ss mentioned at pci that the work should realistically take 5 days, but allow or 10, but considering that its day 7 and only one issues has been rectified, it doesn't make me think overly positively at the situation. we will be calling and emailing till we get a response that is meaningful and not just the same stuff we hear all the time, it sounds horrible but I think we have been more than clam and understanding up to this point and the same response isn't going to sit well anymore building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 231Mar 06, 2014 7:24 pm yay our painters were on SITE today as hubby bumped into them when he went up for a fencing appointment, they were packing up and leaving when he arrived, so it looks as if all the painting issues have now been rectified. the doors are still waiting to be hung lol. as mentioned we had our fence measured we were looking at wood look slat fencing but was way of of price so for now the fence will do, we have chosen to go with white posts, rails and lattice, with grey panels should tie in with the house, not so much with the blue existing fence lol. oh well at least ALH have taken our concerns and are acting on them. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 233Mar 06, 2014 11:12 pm great news when are you getting keys? Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 234Mar 08, 2014 2:41 pm jericho1227 Congrats! thanks, seems part of your fence has gone up janicec great news when are you getting keys? thanks janicec, we still don't have a handover date, so are just waiting, hopefully we hear something soon. we got our fencing quote, install will happen hopefully in about a week, excited to see how it will look, as it isn't the fence type "I" would have preferred but I am confident that it will look amazballs, I was a little blown away that it is over 10m of fencing I through maybe 6m as the space doesn't look that large, must be an optical illusion? apart from the painting which has now be completed "woop, woop" no more action to report just waiting for those doors and a few roof tiles to come down by the seems of things. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 235May 14, 2014 3:53 pm haven't been on here for a long time but thought I would update you on our garden, we planted some agaves, princess lilies, lamandra little con and some green and white grass stuff and some snake or mother- in law tongue plants around the second week we moved in, after water proofing the planter boxes and moved 3cubic meters of soil into them. Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 237May 14, 2014 9:32 pm trixee It's looking great, the planters really set the house off. thanks the planter were something we added to the original plan, as our plan was plants in planters only with grass, we also used a large part of our front yard to enlarge the backyard and think it has worked well. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 238May 14, 2014 11:00 pm Looks amazing!! I'm so jealous, 6 months in and we still just have a pile of sand out the front! What colour is your render? Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 239May 14, 2014 11:10 pm looks lovely! you've done a great job there. we've just got our front landscaping done today too, so nice to see some greens out the front Re: Building Adventure WA(NOR)- YAY!!!!! 240May 17, 2014 4:00 pm thanks, we have moved very fast but we had a few delays that prob makes it feel quicker too. we are just super excited to see some green grass and its sure does make the biggest difference, makes it feel like a home. we used smooth pebble as our render colour it wasn't what we expected a lot more white and bright than I wanted but it does work well. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 111299 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11383 |
