Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 04, 2013 9:34 am So we are waiting for our land to be released. Our roads were done last week and the lights are in. How long did you wait until land was ready for settlement. We have done everything with henley so are very anxious for our land to be released. Re: How long until land settlement 2Jul 04, 2013 1:49 pm Hate to be the bearer of bad news but land settlement often takes a while; council requirements, titles office delays etc. Just seeing as a block of land "looks" ready to go is by no means an indication of its actual readiness. You should have been given and estimated time of release when you purchased the block and I would add a few months to that. If in doubt you can always contact your local council or the developer to see where they are up to. Re: How long until land settlement 3Jul 04, 2013 8:13 pm Crap. I was told a month ago they were on track for mid July. Guess I just need to be patient. Good practice for the build. In getting really good at waiting. Re: How long until land settlement 4Jul 04, 2013 8:17 pm We had roads and lights in three months before the land settled. Things happened pretty quickly for us- once our land looked 'ready' we were settling within a couple of weeks. Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: How long until land settlement 6Jul 04, 2013 9:13 pm Probably depends on a few things including how many are already sold as I understand developers have to pay their contributions to govts on registration. Our place is in a small development of 25 blocks on one street. The street, lights etc have been up and running for months. The first 13 blocks are registered, the next twelve were meant to be ready by end of June but now we're being told another 6 weeks. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: How long until land settlement 7Jul 05, 2013 12:15 am Just goes to show how different everyones journey is. Re: How long until land settlement 8Jul 05, 2013 4:26 pm We had the road and kerbs done probably 2 months before our titles issued, but street signs and lights were only a few weeks before. Re: How long until land settlement 9Jul 06, 2013 12:08 am In contrast, I settled on my land before roads were finished, and street lights and services weren't even completed. I've now been settled on the land for over a month, but the developer isn't expecting practical completion and access to the land for another week. Has me baffled to how that works, but it's obviously possible. My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it.
