I never thought of a concrete slab to be so exciting...but I'm so eager to see mine started.....ARGH..the wait is killing me based on other builds, I'd say the slab is just about to be poured. they probably have the mesh in. KMBI, is my guesstimate right? Re: Building Amalfi 530 with Mainvue 30Oct 30, 2013 7:54 pm Hey kamiabhi Don't stress too much about building interstate. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm in Sydney and also building in Melbourne but in Point Cook. I figured I would visit Melb once every 2-3 weeks to see progress and will also be hiring a BI for pre plaster inspection and pre hand over. I'm just wondering what timber flooring choices did you have during your color selection? I'm tossing up on getting MV to do the flooring so i can move straight in ......bit hard to organise this stuff via interstate..... Cheers for any tips or info you can give.... Re: Building Amalfi 530 with Mainvue 31Oct 30, 2013 9:07 pm Hi FF
We are based in Sydney as well. We plan to visit 2-3 times during the build (or more if required) and hire BI for preplaster and may be for pre hand over. May be we can share a road trip together...lol We selected tiles for living areas and laminate flooring for bedrooms. We did not want carpets. We also thought about getting flooring done post handover initially but decided against it. We thought it was easier to just include it in our mortgage and save cash for interstate move or in case bank undervalues the build. Also, this meant we would not have to get quotes and provide MV with what flooring we were going to install later on for energy rating (part of tender). We thought organising quotes interstate was harder than just selecting things through MV Our flooring plan Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks Kamiabhi Re: Building Amalfi 530 with Mainvue 32Oct 30, 2013 9:17 pm txateu kamiabhi Hi Filthyfil No slab on yet!!
