Sorry to hear of your troubles Kiwifire and MrsBB hopefully it will go smoothly from here, you are so near the finish, before you know it you will be in your new house. We've already been in for 6-7 weeks. Its gone so fast and we still have lots of little bits and pieces to finish. All I can say though is that its fantastic to come home to a new house. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1502Nov 20, 2014 7:54 pm Nice to hear from you Robbie!! I'm glad you are enjoying your new house. Fly screens went on yesterday and all windows sealed! Not much left!! It is so exciting and so frustrating being so close. We are hoping for handover on the 8th. Kiwifire and mrs BB hoping your week got better. Good luck for handover Kiwifire! Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1503Nov 20, 2014 9:19 pm We had PCI today, but we'll have to go back to recheck the stuff that wasn't finished (some electrical, siliconing, garage door and windows). Nothing has been done on my house all week except a bit of cleaning. I was told handover on the 5th, but there's a stack to do: - flyscreens, garage door, mirror in powder, splashbacks, A/C unit + controller, appliances, hot water. Plus all the fix ups. Even the paint fixes ups we identified in prelim. PCI didn't get done. *sigh* the not knowing a date is frustrating. Kazza, that's so exciting. It is frustrating - you feel like yelling - just finish the house dammit! Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1504Nov 21, 2014 6:44 am WE own a house ... now to make it a home. Handover went smooth with little things fixed yesterday by their handyman, who's a really nice guy. we did discover the aircon compressor isn't working after our SS left, so called him and it'll be looked at today. managed to get all our curtains fitted yesterday and a couple of loads of all the flatpack furniture we have bought over the last few months. i'll post some pics soon. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1505Nov 21, 2014 7:49 am Congrats Alan! Best of luck with the move but don't forget to set aside a bit of time to celebrate the occasion with your family. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1506Nov 21, 2014 8:17 am Congrats Alan, I'm so pleased to hear! Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1507Nov 21, 2014 3:28 pm Mrs bb. In case you don't see my reply on the other thread, see below re waterpoint. Definitely not a hole with a plastic cover. I would say that isn't finished. And hope no one turns the mains on! My finished water point looks similar to the one for the washing machine. Like a tap without a spout. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1508Nov 21, 2014 5:23 pm JFN, I'll try to get a photo of mine, might help out. I've got a capped off second washing machine point too (Rawson wanted $250 to install and supply a $50 tap) Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1509Nov 21, 2014 6:03 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is mine Mrsbb it looks just like the washing machine taps but the threads are a smaller diameter. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1510Nov 21, 2014 6:16 pm yep ours looks like this too Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1511Nov 21, 2014 7:14 pm I showed Mr Brown Bear and he said ours looks like that too. I should pay more attention. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1512Nov 23, 2014 9:34 pm I have found out though that the nozzle provided with my LG fridge is too big for the outlet of the waterpoint. robbie - was yours like this too and if so did you jist get an adapter from burnings or something? Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1513Nov 24, 2014 6:52 am I'm sure there would be an adaptor. We still just have our old fridge which doesn't have a water connection. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1515Nov 24, 2014 6:56 pm Exciting Kazza. Take your time through the place. I was told today handover won't be until the 16th. I'll either not be in for xmas, or we'll be in with concrete floors. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1517Nov 24, 2014 8:22 pm Apparently its a total surprise that there has to be a glass splash back in the kitchen, and wait for it, we're having a range-hood too which complicates the process *end sarcasm* Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1518Nov 25, 2014 8:24 pm Wow mrs BB what a joke!! Our PCI went well today. Overall the house was of a high quality, we only picked up on minor things like marks on walls, blown out mortar. The worst was the architraves on two door frames that didn't meet the floor. After a bit of a panic about getting a cleaner, we have handover booked on Tuesday 9th. 2 weeks to go!! Now to fight with one of our neighbours over fencing. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1519Nov 29, 2014 10:54 pm I received my practical completion invoice today (working Saturdays, they must be busy!). I have a question - it says it is due on the 5th December. I thought I would be paying my final invoice on handover day. Did everyone pay their final invoice on PCI day? What's the incentive to fix anything if I've paid them the lot. They say practical completion is on the 5th, but I'd like to see that as they haven't been doing anything and the place is in quite a state and still no splash backs, water tank still has not been replaced and one of my windows is boarded up, but sure, yeah, practical completion. Only decent thing done all week was the garage door made it on (and I love it hurrah!) Wonder how Kiwifire is going. Probably has no internet. I have spent the day packing and am now sporting a huge headache that won't shift. Whilst we still haven't given rental notice as I don't trust they'll give me the house soon enough, we'll probably end up paying rent until mid January and just moving out at our leisure over xmas. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1520Nov 29, 2014 11:00 pm Excellent news on your PCI and handover date kazz. Mrs Bb, hope things start falling into place. Almost 2 weeks since we got our keys and just on 1 week since living in it. There are a few small issues like no holes on side of laundry cabinet for WM pipes to feed in and ensuite door not latching properly but these are easily fixed. Overall though very happy with finished product and SS is all over other items I have brought to his attention. Landscaping started last Tues and will hopefully be done by end of next week. Also fence to be put up week following. Window furnishings also this week along with a few more deliveries. It's been a busy last couple of weeks so can't wait til it's over and the rest over Xmas. 3 48368 Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
