Just an update. We STILL don't have a firm date for final PCI or handover. Will hound the site supervisor today. At home today dealing with a nit outbreak *sigh* - my very first. Which is of course just what we needed.

Hi all,

Seeing as this is a popular Rawson thread, just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the terribly cheap toilets Rawson includes. I constantly find the tank not filling up with water, I have to lift the lid and slight tap the top of the floater to get it to fill.

Any one have a solution to this.

I'd also like to say, Rawson use terrible gyprockers and painters! Anyone notice of a night time when your lights are on, you can see the beams in the roof. And the painters, the painting is so bad and lets not get started on Tiles Direct!!!

Well we are in! Handover went well, we even had a surprise phone call from our SS asking if we would like to get the house early!

We had arranged for the Removalist yesterday afternoon so it was a very crazy and exhausting day!! Now foe the daunting task of unpacking argh!!!

Feeling for you MrsBB, Rawson appear to have let you down the whole way through. Hopefully at the end you'll have a great home that you love and none of your build issues will overshadow your enjoyment of it.

I've been given a date of the 17th now, and my floor layers have managed to fit me in. If I can get the OC, and a removalist on the 23rd, I might squeeze in for xmas. (just), but I'm not counting on it!

I didn't. My solicitor said I don't have to do it. It's your preference if you want to. Rawson uses standard HIA plain English building contract and it's easy to understand.

I had a solicitor check ours. It's a pretty big commitment so we wanted to understand everything

So we have had handover. Didn't go quite so smoothly but we got the place in the end. As of very late last night, our flooring is finished too. Mr BB has been sleeping there every night until we move, except has taken my little boy to the ER tonight

Flooring looks fantastic, really happy with it, but it sure does creak more than I thought it would. It's bamboo. Carpet layers worked from 7:30am to 10pm last night. They spent a substantial part of the morning arguing with each other, so not surprised it took so long. They didn't do a fabulous job either, probably too tired! They still have a cupboard to do as they ran out of carpet. But it won't stop us moving in.

Started moving some stuff in today, and started the arduous job of cleaning the place. We're living in the next suburb, so quick trip in the car. Some stuff just too bulky or delicate to go on the truck.
