And you never know PCI might come quicker than you think. I met TD onsite yesterday so got to look at the painting. Even though it's not finished I love love love the colours. sS sent through a schedule and it seems like a busy few weeks ahead. yAY. It's getting exciting now Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1448Oct 24, 2014 5:57 pm Mrs Brown Bear We have been given an estimated completion date, but I'm not happy with it. 7 weeks time for handover. 5 weeks time for PCI. I'll barely scrape in for xmas as I have to get flooring done. And we've had the realisation today that the colour choice for doors / trims was a bad one. Far too close to the wall colour. I went into colour selections with our wall colours and requested white trims, colour consultant talked us out of it and insisted we have a lighter than the wall colours. I'm hoping after another couple of coats and some better lighting it will look better as I'm a bit unhappy. But we did agree to it and signed off on it, so will have to either live with it or repaint it ourselves (which will be me as Mr BB doesn't do trims). Plus its enamel which I've never painted with before. Alan, glad to hear you are out of hospital. How very stressful. Not long now till PCI for you. Mrs BB, we are building Benham 30...may I ask where you are building at??? Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1449Oct 24, 2014 9:05 pm Sweet peas, we are building a Chifley 42 in Sydney's north Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1450Oct 25, 2014 3:22 pm Mrs Brown Bear Sweet peas, we are building a Chifley 42 in Sydney's north Thanks Mrs BB, was just curious......as we too have been told by our SS of completion date being in 4/6 weeks. However our contract period ends on 05th November. Thought we may have both been building in the Hunter Valley.... Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1451Oct 25, 2014 9:05 pm Sweet peas, that sounds like a long haul! Our contract period isn't up. They are well within it, I'm just anxious to be in for Xmas as my rent is so high. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1452Oct 26, 2014 5:11 pm OK, so I went to visit the painting today and the walls are throwing a pink / purple and I hate it. My large painted sample board from our sample pot is throwing a grey. I'm a bit upset about it, but in the grand scheme of things it could be worse. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1453Oct 27, 2014 4:18 am We had the same issue with our wall paint. Was so tempted to paint the whole house again after handover, but you know what? Wait it out till you have filled up the rooms with furniture and decor. Once the walls are covered, it's not so noticeable anymore. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1454Oct 27, 2014 5:37 am Mrs brown bear . I hope the colour grows on you. The painters have only done the first wall coat but I really like the colour. We went with windy beach and it's a lovely stone white. Had a look at ours yesterday and tiling came up great. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1455Oct 27, 2014 7:01 pm Mrs BB our paint looked a bit weird when there was only 1 coat on not it looks great, and looks different again with the flooring down. Drove passed today and our SS was there so I stopped, he was in a good mood and gave me a walk though... The carpet looked amazing, we did highlight a couple of little things like a missing light fitting in the stairway. It was like a mini PCI which we have properly next week. Re: Rawson Homes - Our dream home journey - Metford 28 Trend 1456Oct 28, 2014 8:01 pm Anyone roughly know how much Rawson charges for Polyurethane kitchen cupboards? From memory there is only 4 overhang cupboards plus the two on top of the fridge. Planning on upgrading to polyurethane overhang cupboards and use laminate for the bottom floor standing cupboards.
