Redink Homes NOR 82Nov 06, 2013 10:44 am So far this week laundry trough, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom vanities and sinks have been installed. Tiles have also been delivered and bathtub has been cemented in. I feel like so much has happened in such a short amount of time, loving it! Had a big think about the things that still need doing and that list is getting shorter Will get photos soon, hopefully when I meet on site with the tiler but I still don't know when that will be. Redink Homes NOR 84Nov 06, 2013 12:53 pm My bathroom and ensuite benches are (they are laminex) but not in the kitchen (essastone). Redink Homes NOR 85Nov 06, 2013 1:23 pm Yes my Formica one in laundry is in. Others aren't. An scared about it getting scratched already So laundry is the only room our tiler could do - BUT the plaster is wrong anyway so he won't be able to do it. Argh! Haha. Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 86Nov 07, 2013 10:42 am Kitchen cabinets. Formica velour 'Chocolate Pear' doors. Bench top will be Essastone 'Carbon'. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ensuite vanity. Formica velour 'Ironstone' bench top with 'Silver Strata' doors. Sink is 'Carboni II' inset basin by Caroma. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bathroom vanity. Formica velour 'Bud' bench top with 'Snowdrift' doors. Sink is 'Carboni II' inset basin by Caroma. Have similar colour feature tiles going in the shower to match the bench top. I know the colour is different but that is what I wanted, hopefully it works really well with white tiles. Redink Homes NOR 89Nov 08, 2013 10:49 am Met with the tiler yesterday arvo after he had bricked up the hobs and bath to confirm the tiles to be used and how I want them. All went well and he seemed like a good bloke. He is due to start on Monday 11th and thinks he will have the ensuite and bathroom all done in a day or 2. Kitchen bench top is due to go in on Thursday 14th then he will come back to do the kitchen tiling! Can't wait to see some colour! Redink Homes NOR 90Nov 08, 2013 10:57 am Wow - our timelines are so similar! We had benches booked for 14th, though got it changed to 12th to fit in with our tiler. Our tiles will start Monday to - so we can race our tilers off against each other. Though I have been very mean to our tiler and picked lots of mosiacs and have subway tiles in kitchen - mwah haha. I am going to spend all weekend baking cakes to hopefully get back in his good books! Did you get given a date of completion or anything? Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 92Nov 08, 2013 11:21 am We are all at the same level again, our tiler is booked for Tuesday though!! If someone falls behind from here on in then we know they have been the unlucky one. Tilers will be under the pump in this race. Bake some for my tiler too, let's keep this race fair I haven't got a date yet but will ask for one once tiling is done. Mid/late January I'm still thinking I will be in, fingers crossed.
