Redink Homes NOR 62Oct 23, 2013 2:23 pm Thanks AKB. I am very glad I don't face neighbours but the view won't match yours though. Windows go in this week sometime then lock up by the end of the month. I guess lock up just means they put a front door and internal garage door on. Here are a few pics. I had forgotten what the front door and internal doors looked like haha but now seeing them I am very happy. And while I was there at 6pm a guy in a bobcat was cleaning up the rubbish and smoothing the driveway and garage. Redink Homes NOR 69Oct 31, 2013 11:21 am Woohoo we are all at the same stage again! It's great but lock up is also frustrating because I want to get in and have a look at what they've done!! aaaggghhhh can't win, I tried to get my hubby to squeeze through an awning window to get in, he didn't fit!!!! hehehehehehe building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 70Oct 31, 2013 11:38 am Yeah asj25 I had accumulated a wide variety of building materials and general waste out the front of mine but all gone now Cedes we are running a close race here! Keys on the same week at this rate? I tried all the windows and doors to get it for a look but no luck either. Lock up actually means lock up I think lol. Lots of peeking through windows from now on. Redink Homes in Banksia Grove Handover 13/02/14 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65768&p=1068366#p1068366 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 71Oct 31, 2013 11:44 am I have a key as we are providing tiling. No desperately peering through windows for me just yet. Sure it will come! Haha. Race is on for keys!! I think the wait over Christmas with almost finished houses is going to be excruciating!! Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 72Oct 31, 2013 11:58 am Oh keys would be handy. I can't see through the bathroom windows to see what goes on in there unlike you who can just stroll around casually picking up on all the progress! I agree about Xmas, our houses will probably be 95% finished and we will be stuck waiting for tradies to come back to work etc Do you have an actual finish date for yours? I don't yet. Redink Homes in Banksia Grove Handover 13/02/14 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65768&p=1068366#p1068366 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 74Oct 31, 2013 12:51 pm I was hoping end of Jan for our build, but when I asked they wouldn't even give me a general idea, CLO said it's usually 12 weeks after lockup, but looking at the other Redink builds on here they seem to be done in 8-10 weeks, I guess it also depends on what you are having done, we are having carpets, painting etc so I think we'll take longer. asj25 - I'm envious of you, I wanted to get into the bathroom to see how the bath looked as they fitted it yesterday, but could'nt and 'were not able to see anything due to the privacy glass!!!! I'm too shy to go when the tradies are there, feel like a stalker So I'm sending hubby up instead as he doesn't give a stuff!! hehehehehe building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 75Oct 31, 2013 12:58 pm Yeah we aren't having anything done through redink - no paving/painting/floors/lights/driveway. That's why I'll be so frustrated over Xmas - I know I have so much work left to do! To be honest - our bath was gross and partially filled with water. So I didn't look too closely as anyway. Haha I hate that they won't give you a rough date of completion! Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 76Nov 01, 2013 11:05 am I was thinking/ hoping for it to be finished by the end of January at the latest. I am doing painting myself and am only getting floors and driveway/ paving out the front done by Redink. I thought we are meant to get rough completion dates when we reach lock up because we do need a date for handover to work around. Asj25 yeah you should be a bit quicker without the flooring and paving. Do you have time off over Xmas? Can imagine you will be tapping your foot waiting for keys. I know I will be haha. Cedes you should go have a look around while they are there, it is your house Redink Homes in Banksia Grove Handover 13/02/14 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65768&p=1068366#p1068366 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 77Nov 01, 2013 2:53 pm Yeah have a few days over Xmas - would have been a perfect time to paint! Haha. I'm almost crying now just thinking about how hot it is going to be trying to paint and do our floors in 40degrees! Haha I haven't got a date, but have tiling meeting next week with SS so will check then Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 78Nov 04, 2013 1:08 pm I am not looking forward to painting either. At least the paint will dry quickly in the heat! They painted the gutters, fascia, downpipes, doors and ceilings on Friday, looks nice Exterior painting was all surfmist matching the roof, doors are done in Solver 'Paper White'. Cabinets start this week I think! Redink Homes in Banksia Grove Handover 13/02/14 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65768&p=1068366#p1068366 Re: First home, first build. Redink Homes NOR 79Nov 04, 2013 1:43 pm You probably won't get any rough dates until Tiling Starts wfry Although we were lucky at our brickwork meeting that SS was saying that he was going to have handover by xmas so we have had a date to try & work by for a little while. BUT it was only a guestimate as there are so many unforeseen things that can happen. I agree with wfry cedes, it's your house you have every right to nose around! The more you do now the less stuff up's they will have to pick up at PCI! Redink Homes NOR 80Nov 04, 2013 1:49 pm Yay sounds good! Redink has it easy with our place - gutters etc all colourbond and no render. They basically just have to do the eaves. Doesn't mean they'll get there any quicker though! HAha So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point.
