Thanks Melsie, not my photo, just a googled one, but I am fairly sure that that is EXACTLY what my face looked like at the time becksyfreemo Oh crikey! I hope this building manager gets everything sorted and gives you a good apology (and they should give you some bloody freebies for all the crap!!) Enjoy your drinks Meeting tomorrow Rather nervous, though I have discovered vodka sorbet, so everything is juuuuuuuust fine I finally found some lights for the main areas. I decided a while ago to put the vintage look chandeliers in the main bedroom, so the main areas needed something, so this will be over the dining table, they come in singles for the front entry and three over the island, and a big cylinder for the lounge. Sorry about the rubbish photo, I couldn't find a stock one online. Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 404Jan 06, 2015 2:01 pm I did! The big cohuna boss guy came out with the site guy and the site guy was short, sharp and barely spoke to us, the boss was quite nice. First up was the laundry. He didn't know whether it could be done. He said he will make some phonecalls and in the event that the benchtop can be held up with a horizontal bit, rather than vertical, he will make it happen. I have put it out there that I DO NOT want a vertical brace and would have had a laminate bench if they had told me that at prestart. So we wait. Shower screen, should have been labelled frameless but wasn't. I said, "that is prestart's issue, not mine". It will be replaced. Aerial point missing, will be fixed Pantry door that was glued when we asked for it to be replaced, will be replaced. Kitchen benchtop was tiled and shouldn't have been, they will remove the tiles and I said they could leave it grey because we will be tiling it anyway. Holes for the dishwasher and washing machines- will be cut Laundry sink will have another plug in it because I stuffed up and missed where it said sudsaver on the addenda. I don't need one, so I made them plug it. (Gee thanks, now I will need to find another sink with the same hole size to replace it... it is a stone top. I can't change the hole ) The kitchen benchtop needs to be replaced entirely because they cut the hole the wrong size and can't fix it apparently. Glass sliding door that looks like a jellyfish should live in it because it is so rippled and bubbly like the ocean- will be replaced I didn't bother asking about the laundry sink (except the plug), or the gable thing on the roof, but we pretty much got everything we were after, we just have to hope that they come back with good news about the laundry benchtop. I can't see why they wouldn't, I phoned Essastone, a stonemason, and spoke to an engineer and they didn't see it as an issue. So all the stuff they have refused previously, was done easily. I hold hope for the laundry YAY! They are talking PCI in 2 weeks. That means keys mid Feb which is kinda cool because we settled and moved out of our last house mid Feb 2012 ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! Fingers crossed for PCI in 2 weeks Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 410Jan 06, 2015 7:12 pm Great news, not long to go now! Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 411Jan 06, 2015 10:25 pm Awesome news. Patience(in finding the right person to talk to) and persistence seems to have paid off. Big weight off the shoulders im sure. Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 412Jan 16, 2015 11:27 pm Patience is the key.... so far they have had the back door glass changed, pulled the pantry door off and replaced it (but not painted it) and got the new kitchen bench in. Three things in two weeks. Our follow up phonecall that was supposed to happen on Thurs the 8th, only happened after hubby phoned him numerous times. He said he would get back to him about the shower and the laundry and still hasn't. I tried to phone again today, surprise surprise, he was 'in a meeting'. No PCI anytime soon I assume, given they aren't talking to us. Landscaping guy is refusing to retic my verge. Says he can't. Both my neighbours have it done and their frontage is the same as mine. He has told the developer that my blocks are higher and he can't retic to the verge. I said well I have no time to hand water (his brilliant suggestion) so I want it paved. He said council won't allow it. I phoned council, they said fine. I phoned developer they said can't do it cos landscaper says no because council says no. Phoned council and have the policy in writing so I can submit plans to have the full hard verge approved and see what the landscaper says then. I have a concrete guy coming out on Sunday to give me a quote, so I know what to put on the council forms. Fence guy came out and was absolutely lovely. Fence will be done in the next week or two. YAY! Had Aussie Window Tinting out for a quote today. Another lovely guy, so I need to sort that out once we actually know when we can move in. I have been toying with the idea of a concrete splashback. I phoned a local glass company who quoted me $1200 for a piece of clear glass to cover it. I phoned Glasskote today and they said they wouldn't recommend doing it because dust could get caught between the glass and the concrete and look rubbish. They quoted $700-800ish for painted glass and if I really wanted it, the clear glass would be a fair bit cheaper So, cheaper than $400-$500 cheaper!? Now I need to go and look at glass splashbacks. I don't really want one, hubby does What is next? Security screens, electrician to switch lights and put up rangehood, and the backyard. Then wardrobes and solar. I feel like I am accomplishing things, even though the wait is slower than a drug addled snail in a heatwave. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! I'm not sure I quite believe the landscaping guy can't do the retic, sounds very weird. But, progress is progress, like you said patience brings its own rewards! viewtopic.php?t=72683 Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 414Jan 17, 2015 10:17 pm Yes, I think he is just not wanting to do the work. I'd be happy to do it myself if they gave me 3.5k, and tell him to go dictate to someone else :/ We picked up our lights today! I have an electrician coming to Mum's on Monday to replace some fans, so I will find out a price to have everything installed. YAY! A better pic of the one I posted earlier Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65763 Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 416Jan 18, 2015 2:43 am Oh Dear!! Sounds like we have very similar problems with our Builders. We have owned numerous homes, and done several renovations. But nothing prepared us for this build. Put it this way, it's only the two of us now so we are downgrading in size to a 1/4 of the size of our present house, on a Cottage block with minimal upkeep and maintenance (getting older and go away a lot). So our build is small. But we signed Building Contract in May 2013 and our house is still not finished (none of it is due to our fault, all delays by the Building Company). Perhaps we will be in the house in a couple of months, but we won't hold our breath!! But so many people with different Builders are having the same problem!! We have been to our build late afternoon (after Tradies gone) every single day of the build, and that has proven essential. But we only live a couple of minutes from our build. Would also recommend hiring your own Building Inspector, that has proven invaluable to us, even though we are experienced and not knew to the Real Estate field!! Best Wishes, Bee Re: Building in Baldivis- Complaint meeting went well 417Jan 19, 2015 8:04 pm Oh Bee, I am sorry you are having Hell too I hope it picks up for you soon. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done!
