Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 28, 2013 2:55 pm Okay so we've decided to make a completely new thread for our build as we basically start from scratch again.... Due to more delays we've put a hold on a couple of new blocks rather then wait over a year for our house do be built and also trying to find a new house to build after more let downs and no communication from our previous builders
Here's hoping we learnt lessons from our last attempt and have a smoother process this time!!! Re: Bluestone Mt Barker Build 2Jun 28, 2013 4:34 pm best of luck this time around, hope everything goes more smoothly this time. FINALLY! we have some progress A lot has changed we've cancelled our contract with Stsman, in the motions of Cancelling our contract with the Wlker Corp i.e. Bluestone Estate and have found a perfect block down in 'The Grove' in Mt Barker!! Nice private little area with beautiful big gumtrees everywhere - definitely feels a bit more 'country' Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also tossing up between 2 builders as we speak and hope to sign with one of them over the next few days At the moment the two we are trying to decide on are the Mantra 25 with M and Monaco Stria with Fairm0nt Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 10Jul 11, 2013 12:33 pm Congratulations. Both plans look fabulous. Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 11Jul 11, 2013 12:51 pm Sorry to hear things have been a bit crazy for you Davelle, hope all goes really well this time. More excitement with new plans and new blocks! All the best Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 13Jul 11, 2013 2:02 pm Glad you finally have an alternative and can get cracking! Both are great, I am like Hachy with minor bedrooms being up the front.. but thats personal preference! Some people hate the master bedroom being at the front, but we don't really care Whatever one will work in the best for you Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 17Jul 11, 2013 6:21 pm Thanks we love both! The stria I'm just worried about the family area I think it makes it feel a bit smaller for me because its the only exit to the back yard in the back room We actually hated the thought of having the master at the back until we saw the mantra and it made sense considering we have no kiddies yet we predominately use the master and living areas so it's nice to have them all close together Basically the kid room at the front would be my office anyway and the grove is a much quieter little area so it feels nice and secure! & No offence for any other builders but after our recent experience we are really weary of builders etc but feel pretty confident in M after having family and friends journeys to follow Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 18Jul 12, 2013 9:01 am Well thats it, you have to be happy with it. Floorplans and layouts are so personal and it's what is going to suit you and how you live specifically. I never really took floorplan into account when I built the first time, and it didnt work as well as it could have. I'm glad you have confidence in M, Its a good start going forward. You are going to get good & bad experiences with everyone (some more than others) but as long as you feel good about it, thats all that matters Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Our Mt Barker Build @ The Grove 19Jul 12, 2013 2:21 pm if you need any help with M let me know, i can provide you with some tips and price comparisons and pitfalls we have had, none which are really a issue . also happy for you to come and have a look through ours before lockup too.
