Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 81Nov 27, 2013 11:27 am Well now that I know Henley read this and they are not happy with stuff I have written on here I would like you all to know I have amended some things as they seem to think I have not told the truth. I have amended a comment even though that is how is happened in my day and I did correct it in another post when I found out that they just didn't read a full email (two posts ago) Let’s hope our house will last now. So this is a post for the Henley staff. Sorry if I upset you but i just posted on how it rolled out with us and what we were told. I understand your busy buts it is our homes your building. Something that we have saved forever to build and we just want to feel like you care. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 82Nov 27, 2013 11:35 am hi Rangi! You have every right to post you experience here! I don't see why they would get upset if what you said is true. It's them that should correct their attitude and care more about the customer (you). having said that, i am lucky enough with my experience with henley which have been pretty smooth, except for some hiccups during tender/costing. i just hope that they will reply me and give some explanation with the issues i raised to them previously. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 83Nov 27, 2013 12:21 pm Hi ! Rangi83 I think mtz08 is right. Everyone can express their concerns here on online forum. This is called freedom you get by having Social Media nowadays. It seems like Henley may not aware of power of Social Media and what it can do to success/failure of any company/product/person. I have seen some other builders, take this seriusly and reply each concern raised on Social Media straigh away and in way win back customer and also potential customer who read these blogs before deciding which builder to go with. I personally think Henley got the best product in the marker, but to make it even better, it needs to be supported well as well, it may in terms of Social Media awareness/action or educating admin/SS/Architect/Sales people so that they know you can no get away with your mistakes. I hope this message goes all the way to Henley management and take this seriously and improve customer service. Remember a short phone call can fix large problem, its just the matter of communicating with customer. Cheers..guys. i hope everything goes well. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 84Nov 27, 2013 3:26 pm Our experience with Henley besides the last two days has been great. And we love the house we are building. Yesterday was frustrating us as we felt rushed into getting our inspection done and knowing that the plaster had already started. But it all turned out OK. I was excited about our build and was really enjoying the whole process but not anymore. Lets hope it can go back to a smooth ride from here. HI there we are also building with Henley, and your comments are really valuable for the people like me we have bought land in Officer, it is titled which is gr8 think, Henley ordered the Soil test etc to come out with Site cost, and at the same time, some one is ringing to book appointments for colors, just wondering if we go with one color appointment and later if we want to change, has it happened to you? and is that allowed? Also another question comes is about the finance, we are doing with Waterstone and wondering how you all go with the upgrades and all? did you guys get any issue at Valuation with bank? by the way we are building Henley Monaco Q1, thanks in advance Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 86Nov 28, 2013 11:52 am Hi kedar_u Generally you want to go to the colour appointment with a good understanding of what you want you can go to cosham whenever you like and look around. However you can change your colour document whenever but definitely best to have it all changed before contract signing. Yes would recommend to add everything during colour appointment to see the costs and then amend it at tender stage. Not sure about finance the water-stone. GL! Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 89Dec 04, 2013 8:57 pm Guys, A question: If you choose RAFT slab, do Henley charge extra amount to maintain energy ratings ? Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 91Dec 05, 2013 10:40 pm RussnDana How can you chose a type of slab I was under the impression that the engineering company Henley uses tell them what slab is required based on land and soil tests. Yes, that's true. But what I was told is if they use raft slab than it may affect energy rating and so may charge extra for it. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 93Dec 06, 2013 2:16 pm Electrical appointment, before or after Tender appointment ? Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 96Dec 10, 2013 6:14 pm Guys, we had our colour appointment yesterday. It went well. More details on my blog. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 97Dec 10, 2013 6:41 pm Hi. is below the normal process? initial deposit ($1500) to secure the promotion --> tendering --> colour appointment --> contract signing Where does making changes to the house plan fall in between? I am guessing after contract signing, then BUILDING will begin. or is there stuff after that to be taken care of? thanks Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 98Dec 10, 2013 7:07 pm lovepub Hi. is below the normal process? initial deposit ($1500) to secure the promotion --> tendering --> colour appointment --> contract signing Where does making changes to the house plan fall in between? I am guessing after contract signing, then BUILDING will begin. or is there stuff after that to be taken care of? thanks HI ! Lovepub It may depend on Builder you choose from. Generally the flow is : Initial deposit to book promotion--> Colour selection-->Tender-->Contract sign For all changes or Non Standard Variations, it has to be done before Tender or before contract the latest. Ideally, everyone do these changes at sales office rather than head office to bargain or to see how much builder is interested in your business. After you sign contract, no builder will care enough but it can be done as Post Contract Variation which can be chargeable. But question is why would someone need it if they be well prepared in advance. Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 99Dec 10, 2013 7:38 pm Spatel It may depend on Builder you choose from. Thanks for the info. I am going (most likely anyway) with Plantation Homes in QLD which would be Henley in Melb. Spatel For all changes or Non Standard Variations, it has to be done before Tender or before contract the latest. Ideally, everyone do these changes at sales office rather than head office to bargain or to see how much builder is interested in your business. So I would imagine I need to deal with the sales office with all the changes to the plans. Going in to see the sales this Sunday again. Hopefully some freebies can be given. Fingers crossed Re: Our first Home :) the Sahara Q1 100Dec 16, 2013 9:47 am Spatel Guys, we had our colour appointment yesterday. It went well. More details on my blog. HI Spatel we also had our colors appointment recently, we choose the same bricks as yours, we are doing monaco Q1, the facade is regent, and kept the same as one in Cragiburne i have question about the ceasar stone, - we have gone for 70mm island style, someone told me that they compressed two or three 20mm stone and make 70mm stone, i know that does not sound correct, can anyone please clarify? also question regarding water pressure, in our current unit, when we open one tap, the other open tap goes down with pressure, will that be same situation or you can put some thing to mitigate that? thanks in advance kedar So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27713 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
