Yay, it looks fantastic Sharee, so glad you're happy with it too!

So the top cupboards in kitchen are Pearl Dust aren't they? Lovely colour, our display has it in the WIP, and we are getting a similar one Pearl Mist for ensuite benchtop (different colour but same shimmery look - nice isn't it?)

What colour are the bottom ones (sorry you've probably said elsewhere)?

Thanks! All of the cupboards are actually pearl dust, the flash has made the bottoms look lighter but they are actually the same as the top, the kicker is called shadow. I really like the shimmer, I was worried the speckles would throw pink, but it looks good so far. Well not long to go at all to we get to see your cabinetry!!

Oops they are the same! They do look different don't they, I think the top ones in these pics represent the colour more truly.

An update on my house - Nothing is happening :twisted:

Our brickie is into his 10th week for a 22 square house :twisted:

And our ss tells us this week that quite a few of our walls aren't straight and so some of the plaster is going to be ripped down so they can fix it - so we are actually going backwards!!

I'm so sorry hun! That is so frustrating for you!!

I really hope they can fix up the mistakes (on a positive atleast they realised and didn't need you to point it out) and get on with the job!

Oh no. Is the brickie actually working, but just being slow? Or is it still too muddy for him sometimes?

If it's any consolation, my kitchen still isn't in yet either :roll:

Youre right Bel, at least they are fixing their mistakes rather than trying to cover them up!
He is there Donuts but just keeps leaving to finish other 'side jobs' he has. Our ss has said there is such a shortage of brickies at the moment that he has no choice but to just let him do as he wants! Mind you our lock up invoice was sent to us two weeks ago!

Oh Sharee what a pain! My neighbours are building with S too and they are in the same situation as you. I spoke to the painter the other day and he said they are in desperate need for brickies... he couldn't believe he was painting the walls and there were no bricks! The kitchen is installed too :shock:

Let's hope there is no major downpour, fingers crossed for you. Let's hope you are next in line

Not happy for you, Sharee! Our place is just sitting there with things 3/4 done, too - I HATE that!!!! :evil:

I don't understand why they can't all finish something once they start it.

That's really disgraceful that the brickie can just come & go and do it in bits and pieces - grrr....I hope your SS puts some pressure on him to finish off your place and not nick off to do other jobs on the side!!!

As has been said,at least they spotted the mistakes with the walls and can hopefully fix them quickly.

Our brickwork is also taking sooooooooooooo long...not really the brickies fault though...first the reveals on 2 of the ground floor windows were wrong and it took 2 weeks to fix!!!!! :evil:

and when they did eventually fix them they put one of the windows in upside down :roll:

DH opened the sliding window and ended up standing there with the window in his hands and a silly look on his face :shock:

thank god he didn,t drop it

anyway that took another few days for someone to come out and fix.....
It,s lucky that we noticed it as at that stage we didn,t have an SS...thankfully we have one now (as of last week)
A lot of our hold ups seem to be due to scaffolding...I,ve never seen so much buggering around with it....put it up....take it down...put a different one up...take that down and put original back up :shock:

it,s crazy and now the brickies have to wait until Friday for their scaffolding to be raised....

10 weeks is just ridiculous :evil:

I can,t believe they,ve already sent you the invoice for lock-up...the cheek of it !

yes I have given up hope of our house ever finishing! I'm not sure if he has a labourer - in fact I'm not sure he has arms :lol:

Have been trying to call our ss but he no longer answers the phone or has message bank - my guess would be he has left like the last two.

Well our bricking started 13 weeks ago and like we warned our ss, if you leave something ****** around that long it will get stolen - and our bricks have been pinched (wish they had have taken the bricklayer instead :lol:

)
But at least they are doing something on the inside and we now have paint! The colour looks good in these pictures but in reality is actually a little yellower than I had hoped

Below is our master bedroom, there is a massive gaping tear in the plaster which no one has yet to explain (and which they have simply painted over!)

Our heating and cooling ducts are also in, there is one extra cooling duct than there was meant to be (hope they stuffed up and also install a bigger unit)

The tear in the plaster WT?? It makes you laugh how the painters painted over it knowing that they will evenutally have to repaint!!

As for your bricks, you did tell them :wink:

Sharee... I don't want to make you spin out even more, but you are part bricked aren't you? When they order new bricks, they most likely won't be from the same batch.
Talk to your SS about this. There may or may not be a noticable colour variation, but if I was you I'd like to know what their plan B is if there is a noticable variation. :shock:

Sorry you probably don't need to hear this.... but if it was me I'd be concerned about it.

Thanks Jo, I hadn't even thought about that - the bricking is 3/4 of the way through! A multicoloured house wasn't really the look I was going for!

I guess the assumption is the green wrapping stuff (that's the technical name for it :lol:

) has sealed the house. It has rained a fair bit and the house seems to be waterproof. Fingers crossed we dont have a torrential downpour!

Just seemed a strange way of doing things but I guess if it means you overall build time is not delayed that's a good thing
