Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 21, 2013 1:17 am Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm new to this building game. We have just purchased some land in Burns Beach, WA. Titles won't be ready till August/September 2013 some time. In the mean time we are trying to decide on a builder and get our plans in place. I've enjoyed reading some of your threads for tips and ideas. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 2Jun 21, 2013 2:11 am Hi Burnsfirstime, welcome to forum. We are first time builders and found all the info here absolutely invaluable! We are building in Burns Beach too! Where is your block? Good luck in your search for a builder. Are you planning on a single or 2 storey? T Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 3Jun 24, 2013 1:45 am Ours is in Iris. We still can't decide if we should do double or single. We are going to make a final decision on that this week and then make a definite move forward with builders. Where are you building yours? Have you decided on a builder yet? How far along in the process are you? My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65763 Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 6Jul 12, 2013 1:23 am What a great floorplan! Love it and really love raked ceilings. Still not sure why we didn't go for them ?? Does this mean you have decided who you are building with? Just realized I didn't answer your prior message. We are building with dale alcock on Whitehorses. We are due to have slab down Monday fingers crossed. I think your plan is amazing I you came up with it all yourselves and being first time builders. We didn't know where to start... Good luck T Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 8Jul 12, 2013 9:40 am Great floor plan! I agree with judydg's comment regarding multiple doors to the family bathroom. It will give you more space for placing furniture in the bedrooms too. I would keep one entry via the passage, however swap the position of the door and the vanities. At the moment you can stand in the family room and peer straight into the bathroom and toilet! You could also put the vanities where the shower currently is, and then put a larger shower in place of the vanities. Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 9Jul 23, 2013 7:33 pm Love the plan but I would work on the main bathroom, just make it flow better with placement of the shower etc. I reckon you could work it so the toilet is separate unless you specifically didn't want that? The powder room near the entry is a great idea but which door do you think would be used the most? I would probably try and reduce i to one. We have the same powder layout in our main hallway and we have our door opening against the toilet so when the door gets left open all you see is the cabinet/sink and the toilet is is hidden Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 11Jul 23, 2013 8:16 pm xxkatxx If you stick with the ensuite layout are you able to get a glass door on the toilet so it matches the shower? They could both be clear or frosted? That's the plan My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: First time builder in Burns Beach 12Jul 23, 2013 9:01 pm Looks good, have commented on ensuite layout. I'm sure there is a reason for having the multiple doors into the bathroom but how practical would it actually be in terms of having the other two doors locked/unlocked for using it and privacy... Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 4956 Thanks NativeZen!
