Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 83Sep 05, 2014 6:04 am MalSannie, yes I left the kids with my husband and flew to Perth for pre start and to see a few other things. I went flat out for a few days. Fun. When I first started reading this forum yours was one of the first threads I read - I remember the location, the retaining walls and the swimming pool and I also visited your blog - the cobblestones and mood boards. But I somehow lost track - I'm glad to have caught up a bit, the weekend when I have more time I'll catch up properly. Hope you have a lovely day Re: Two story with WBN on Mandurah Canals, insect screen dil 85Sep 05, 2014 1:23 pm housebythewater Insect screens shouldn't be this hard.... but I need help. We switched to a wider brand of stacker doors in our dining room and these don't come with insect screens. The verdict is that we need insect screens but I don't want to obstruct the view with clunky screens, etc. I've been looking at Centor screens but aren't yet convinced that they'll work with our dining room design. The screens have a ~100x100cm box at either end of the window frame and the column between our two sets of stacker doors is only 230mm square. I believe that they can still be installed but I'm worried about obstructing access to opening the stacker doors and a bulky addition to the column. Please take a look at our dining room plan and let me know if you have any suggestions. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ WBN have suggested some security screens (including Crimsafe) but I suspect they will not be the best for airflow, which is the whole point of us having screens. (Also posted in "Windows and Doors": viewtopic.php?f=23&t=72322.) Hi there, Not sue where you're up to with your screens. There are a few options to you in retractable and pleated style. Not all retractable screens have such a big box section so do look around. Also you might consider a pleated screen for that opening too, the tracks and profiles aren't as chunky. Great build. And ours don't have any retaining function, so I don't know why they build them with the bricks in that direction rather than running lengthwise to leave more room for plants. It has definitely restricted our planting selection with the landscapers, who've told us we can't fit what we had in mind for that space. Will that be an infinity edge at the end? Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 90Sep 18, 2014 8:20 am No, it doesn't have an infinity edge. At the far end, there will be a suspended slab, with kayak storage underneath and a bench seat on top. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . The neighbours have just put in an infinity edged pool right on the canal front and it's going to look fantastic. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 91Sep 18, 2014 10:15 pm Infinity or not, it's still going to look fantastic. You must be so happy with it ... love the 'my spot' Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 96Oct 03, 2014 10:26 am Hi Housebythesea Just curious,Did they put enough ties between the two leafs otherwise the walls will have to be braced during the complete fill/pouring or they can pour in stages but that means extra pump costs? May I suggest you take more photos at various stages and put them up..I am happy to take a quick look at them if you are not sure or need advice....better sure/safe than sorry later. Retaining walls is an area that requires attention.. as my Geotechnical Uni lecturer once told me.. once its buried it's forgotten so great care is required in design, attention to detail and construction.
