Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 18, 2013 12:06 am Hello, everyone calls me B. My husband and I have just started the long process of building our first home. We are building with Aussie Living homes in Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook. Our block is a tiny cottage block 7.5m frontage and 250msq. We are building The Jetts from the Manhatton range. The only thing we have changed is the backyard/courtyard is only half paved. Our titles are due to be released till October, at the moment it is just a big pile of sand. There aren't even roads to our block yet. I'm so excited hubby and I go out every Saturday to take a progress photo. We got to lockup today which is a week shy of 3 months since the slab went down. They have said 8-10 weeks to PCI. Which will be about 12 months since we signed up. There was some of it that was very quick, we got our plans 5 weeks after signing, but we had timeframes to meet with our land. Very excited with how the house is turning out. Hope your enjoying the process Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 6Jun 19, 2013 6:09 am welcome and hi love the way your plan is with living . love your color selections do you have access to your garage from a lane way Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 7Jun 19, 2013 11:58 am Fmac, I spent some time reading your thread last night. The streets are those all around us, but our street is sold out. Has this happened to anyone before? The title date been moved forward? We also saw a couple of things we liked today, we are still unsure on roof, brick and render colours but I think we've decided on kitchen and carpet colours. Countdown to prestart is on... 4 sleeps Building in Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook with Aussie Living current stage: Locked Up Est Handover Beginning of Dec My thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65509 Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 13Jun 22, 2013 10:42 pm Our land was already titled so no idea! I've usually heard of them being late not sure about being brought forward... What colours are you looking at? Do you have 1 or 2c bricks? Have you been into the office in Osborne park? It shows lost of the stuff that is standard and some of the upgrades. Though you can upgrade things that aren't in the file. Like silk finish laminate and the bathroom sink we upgraded to wasn't one they displayed. Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 14Jun 22, 2013 10:47 pm We are thinking dark grey roof (colour bond) with matching render then a light grey render. We have 1c bricks but are unseen from the front as it is fully rendered. We like the whitish bricks though. We had a brief look through prestart room at our finance appointment. We would like matching carpet to the bathroom floor tiles and the kitchen will have a medium grey essastone top and light cupboards. Haven't decided on tops for bathroom or floor tiles yet. Is Aussie doing your flooring? If you check the first page of my post it shows you one of the grey tiles in the builders standard range, though because it isn't standard size we paid extra laying costs. Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 16Jun 22, 2013 10:56 pm Was just looking at your plan again. With your linen since you don't have a door out of the laundry could you make you linen into a corner linen? Not 100% sure it'll fit but it looks like you have a bit of space possibly. Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 17Jun 22, 2013 10:59 pm We've been to crosbys, the lady was amazing. She couldn't help much in the kitchen because she didn't know what the standard essastone bench tops were for Aussie. Yep Aussie doing our tiles, we upgraded to tiles. Ill have a look at them now. I am loving this website, no one else cares about us building, all slightly jealous as we are a young couple and our friends are nowhere near buying a house. I'm defiantly going to ask about that, I would love a bigger linen. The guy at crosby's did actually help us with kitchen colours. Was your stone in the kitchen and upgrade? We paid $900 to upgrade the appliances and to stone. From what I know you could actually have any colours which was a surprise because most builders, including Ventura limit the colour choices We have stone in the bathroom as we had to get another piece of stone so we could have a 1m wide kitchen island bench rather than the 80cm we would have had. Costly but was one of our must haves. If ou want an idea of costs for some upgrades just ask as we got 60+ items costed Re: Our Home - Malvern Springs, Ellenbrook - Aussie Living H 19Jun 22, 2013 11:10 pm Yep we got the same upgrade hehe Glass doors on the showers? Gas point for heater? Kitchen tap with the hose? Down lights? There was one other thing hubby and I were talking about but I can't remember. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same.
