Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Which high end custom builders? 2Jun 18, 2013 6:59 am Hi thewind2, welcome to the forum Most of the people on here are building project homes - not many customs/high ends, but the first thing to do would be to do a search on the forum for those builders... For example a search for Grollo shows quite a few posts.... Otherwise (and this is general advice for anyone) one of the best things to do is simply go and talk to the builders - meet them, get a feel for them - you will get an instinct on who is right for you. And then ask if they will give you the details of any houses that they have built so you can go and see their work in real life (if they don't want to give you any details then to me that would be a red flag straight away!). For that budget I would definitely recommend an architect though. Another builder to look at that used to hear good things about - when we were in Melbourne we were seriously looking at Fasham http://www.fasham.com.au/ After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Which high end custom builders? 3Jun 18, 2013 7:02 am Forgot to say - it also depends on what you are looking for in a house - and what your land is like. Re: Which high end custom builders? 5Jun 18, 2013 10:40 am Hi thewind2 We looked at a few high end builders, those were Comdain, C&J Designer Homes & Destination Living. Again it depends what type of home you're after. All of these companies had beautiful homes. From the episode, they built a stunning house.
