Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - PCI 22/08 - splashback pi 83Aug 05, 2013 1:07 pm February12 not long to go, bet your counting the days!! lol yeah, not sure how many to count though. Our SS says he is planning for handover 1 week from PCI. I am sceptical and am thinking more like 2 weeks after PCI. Very excited, just not looking forward to the organisation and cost of moving in. I need to organise a driveway, the connections, insurance and moving truck (and the family to help move stuff). I'm going to try and spend 1 full day of packing each week from now on and then hopefully we will be ready to go by handover! We are very undecided on the driveway at the moment, so will try and put up some ideas soon for you all to comment on. Below are the best pics I have of our facade and garage door and then below that is the look we were aiming for with our facade. Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - PCI 22/08 -driveway help 90Aug 08, 2013 2:09 pm If it were me, I would have gone the aggregate route but our silly builder didn't offer this + the driveway was part of a package and we couldn't really remove it!! Nice driveway in the example by the way :p Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - PCI 22/08 -site clean don 92Aug 13, 2013 8:45 am nickvee This is an example of our colours (well similar) with a light aggregate driveway: I think your place would look great with it! Thanks Nickvee, I think we're going to go for the aggregate. Latest Update: - site has been cleaned and fence removed, looks like a home now rather thana construction site yay! - flyscreens on windows - Rangehood is in! - Everything is a little bit cleaner and plastic is off windows (yay for better pictures) Will post pics soon, the countdown in on to PCI! I just love the Jasper colour Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - PCI 22/08 -site clean don 97Aug 20, 2013 1:56 pm Thanks for all your compliments and ideas for the driveway! I am busily booking in quotes for the driveway, after our PCI on Thursday. A bit scared about the concrete cost. I measured the other day and it is about 40metres squared for the driveway and path and then there is another 15 metres squared I'd love to get done down the side of the house, pretty sure I can't afford this extra section though. lol So excited to get inside and look at everything at PCI, but nervous at the same time. Not sure how picky to be, I'm not in love with half the outside paint work. You can see some of the joins in the woodwork, nail holes in the front porch eaves and tiny bubbles on the front door. Not sure if I am being to picky with these things though? Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - PCI 22/08 -site clean don 98Aug 20, 2013 2:08 pm I am very unhappy with the paint work inside my place (I've sneaked in a few times). It's a disgrace actually and I'm going to be as picky as necessary. There are a lot of runs and areas that were not sanded properly. The painter did "touch ups" but he just painted over un-sanded areas of plaster, that now stick out.. There is also a few spots where the architraves were split (mostly at the bottom and partially covered by carpet), but instead of fixing them they just shoved as much paint as possible in the cracks to make it look unbroken?? Lol who does that!! Really if its something that you yourself will have to do later, make sure it's fixed by them. Who has time to repaint.. Something you should consider is visiting the display home before hand, have a look at their finished job, your house should be at the same standard.. Re: Our Hamilton23 with Carlisle - Handover booked 29/8! 99Aug 25, 2013 9:34 pm Ok so we had our PCI last Thursday. We also had our private inspector there at the same time. We mostly picked up minor paint issues and some more brick cleaning that needed to be done. Our private inspector picked up a few more things, but nothing too bad. Best advice I saw on this forum was to check the carpet in each of the doorways, we found 2 nails sticking up. So handover is now booked in for the coming Thursday 29th August. Very exciting, but now I am flat out organising everything! On Friday booked the moving truck, the driveway company and the heating commissioning. The driveway is due to start on handover day. It's going to be a very big day, but I can't wait. Just have to organise the insurance and the fridge delivery now. Oh and finish packing. We aren't moving straight away though, so not too bad. Still got about 2 weeks to finish the packing. We are going to move on Election day. and hear are some inside pictures for you all. Getting inside is a great feeling!
