Building A New House

Just wondering if I could get some feedback and tap into some wisdom from the forum.
We contracted a house inspector for our first build with a large company.
He's given us a report at base stage to say there are a few defects needed to be looked at, namely uneven set downs to the Garage and Porch that needs to be levelled.
The SS says the defects are normal and still acceptable, but to forward the report to him anyway.
Thing is they've given us the invoice and terms say 1 week to pay. I want to wait to hear from them before I transfer the money. At what point can they charge me interest for late payment?

I would imagine after the 7 days have passed without payment

The advice you are seeking from this forum is exactly the advice your inspector should have given you. Why has he not?
Get someone who has the expertise to advise you properly.

I was thinking since I've raised an issue that 7 days does not apply but perhaps a clause in the contract would still obligate me to pay them . just wondering what is the standard practice.. ?
Will speak to the building inspector again tomorrow and give the builder a call too.

The builder is only intrested in the next stage payment as soneone else posted on here, they dont care about anything and with the RBS gets all the work from them. Sad sad…
